  • Hi everyone - I am slinking back in after a couple of weeks of really struggling, and know I need to keep posting here to keep myself real.
I have put a couple of pounds on, and am really kicking myself, but it could have been a lot worse.....
I'm glad to see that others are doing well and especially teecee and calamity clare - great achievements considering all the temptation in our way at the moment!
I am going back to basics starting tomorrow, and have my dynorod soup in the fridge ready to go!
George, my nephew, was back in hospital last week for more brain surgery as the last lot hadn't worked, and thankfully it has worked this time and things are looking much more positive!
    Hey ho

NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........

I apologise if I have offended you or anyone else on this thread but I disagree most forcefully with your sneering comment: Supportive? Far from it". If you look back at the number of posts on this and preceeding threads, you couldn't fail to see that it has been a great support to many people.

You point out that you get hostility from your group - don't you wonder why?

Incidentally, I retired as a Consultant earlier this year, so you're not a 'customer' as far as I'm concerned, though that would never make a diifference to how I treat anyone.

If I can help anybody I will, if you choose to ignore me that's no problem at all. I am evangelical about SW, I make no bones about it. I've been a slimmer myself, almost all my life - this is the only plan that has ever taught me how to keep the weight off and I tried hard to inject that enthusiasm into my members.....I won't apologise for that.

I'm finding that this has become rather stressful. I hate arguements and am obviously not as clever as some, so I'm going to retire from the thread for a while.

Happy Christmas to all, maybe I'll be back in the New Year
Have a nice Christmas, I found the way to deal with that WB guy was to skip his diatribes !! Glad he's not in my group.!!

Hi guys, just posted this on Old Style and thought you lot might like it too!!

    Cochifrito (serves 4)

900g boneless lamb cut into bitesize chunks (I use about 500-600g and use a cheap cut)
    salt and pepper
4 large garlic cloves (I use more!!)
1 onion finely chopped (i miss this out)
    10-12 shallots peeled
2 large carrots cut into big chunks (I use more)
1 tbsp sweet smoked paprika (mine doesn't say if it's sweet or hot but it must be hot as the end result is pretty spicey!!)
Juice of 2 lemons (I use Jif lemon juice!)
Large hanful of chopped flatleaf parsley (I don't bother)
1 Chicken stock cube (I use Knorr)

I also add a beef oxo and use cornflour slaked with water to thicken a few mins before serving.

    1. Season the lamb and brown in a frying pan, transfer to a slow cooker.

    2. Put the carrots, shallots, garlic, smoked paprika, stock cubes and lemon juice in with the meat and add boiling water to just cover the meat.

    3. I cook it on auto for about 6 hours, I think on my slow cooker the auto setting is 2-3 hours on high then down to low for the rest of the time.

    4. Thicken with cornflour just before serving. i serve it with mash and veggies.

It's actually a Slimming world recipe and if you're following their plan it's free on red and EE, you just need to syn the cornflour.

I'm back from Weigh-in and lost 3 lbs. So that's over 8 lbs lost - mind you that's in about 6 weeks.
  • Morning all!
Feeling so much better today and can actually breath out of my nose!
Back firmly on plan, as I hardly ate yesterday, just my tea.
Going to do spag bol tonight but going to use a jar as I can't seem to get my bol right these days, and for me and the boys it works out at 2syns per serving if I use the small jar of dolmio light, not bad at all!
  • Well done to everyone who lost this week. My WI is tonight and this week has been up and down. Not overly bad, just not great lol.
My scales at homehave broke so I have no idea whether I have gained or lost by them!

    Morning all

Yesterday was ok, except I succumbed to a few xmas chocs in the afternoon. Luckily they are all gone now so no more cheating.

Today I am going to do a Green day - these seem the best days when I am cold and feeling carb-hungry

Breakfast - Scrambled egg on ww roll (HEB and 2 syns for flora light)
Cups of tea w/ HEA milk throughout the day

Lunch - Jacket potato with beans and cheese (HEA)

Snack - something with a heb!

Dinner - OH wants pasta, not sure what to do with it tho. Got plenty of ingredients but no inspiration.
Got any good pasta ideas anyone??

    thanks Bx

Morning all! I made loads of mince pies yesterday, I ended up having 2 but they were only small as I made mini ones for me and normal sized ones for OH. I'm going to say 11 syns for the 2 mince pies plus 3 syns for chicken in my curry so 14 syns over all. Not too bad as I had a couple of days earlier in the week where I had very few syns. Going for a green day today, tea is at OH's mum's so won't be as healthy as if I did it myself!

Brekkie - 2 small eggs hardboiled, beans, ryvita (HEB)
Lunch - spicy butternut squash soup (2), leftover SW chips, melon, kiwi
Tea - ??? will probably have meat in so HEB
Snacks - more fruit and a mini mince pie (5.5)
    HEA - milk in tea
