Can I politely suggest we change the subject?! Whichever 'side' of the argument we each agree with its obvious that not everyone is going to agree. This thread is meant to be support for people following the SW plan......none of us will be getting much support if the thread gets closed!!!

On a lighter note......I'm soooooo glad to be home where the toilet flushes!!!! We've been shopping tonight so hopefully I'll be able to stick to plan for the next week or so without too much trouble!!! We're just watching corrie from last night....talk about OTT!!!

...Today has been an apple and a cup of tea so far, about to have some bean quiche with veg. Think I'll have the left over quorn chilli with a jacket spud and some roast carrots and parsnips tonight. I do green days mostly as I rarely eat meat.

Melda, is that a regular (SW) quiche with baked beans in? I might try that.

It was WI last night and I was disappointed to get a maintain. I don't feel like I've been anything but on plan, but the only thing I can think is that maybe I have to reduce my portion sizes? When I'm having my bacon & eggs for lunch I'm having 2 eggs, 2 slices bacon, large portion of beans & mushrooms. Does that sound like too much to you guys? Are you eating large portions still, or are you limiting your meal sizes?
My son gained 0.5lb, but he says he did have pizza and sausage rolls when he stayed at a friend's last w/end, so we can understand that I guess. I'm at the tail end of my * week, so don't even think that can impact on my WI. I'm thinking go for lots of superspeeds this week, and see if it works. I aim to get to the gym 3 times too, as I only got to go once last week.

Sary, you've done so well so far - and it's always a shock when you stay the same or some goes on, for no apparent reason. I wouldn't try to dissect it, it'll probably come off next week. Having said that, I put on weight the past two weeks so I have been having as many speed and superspeed foods as I can and this week I have lost .....tada!!!! 5 lbs!!! That's a first for me, I've lost in half- and one-pounds :D so it might work for you too. I made a list to carry with me of all the speed/superspeed foods that I like.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
  • PS that loss is a bit of a bummer really as it makes me 2 lb off target ... and I was so convinced I'd stayed the same or put on a bit that I bought a 6-week countdown on the way in to class! Oh well :p
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

DKAM - glad to hear you're back on it! I'm considering making h/m burgers in the near future, but let me know how the meatballs go.

    hey Sary,
when i first started doing SW i PILED my plate, because i could!! now i find that i don't do that any more,i think its the novelty that you can eat SO much and still lose weight, and eventually you find that you're just not hungry, sometimes i force myself to eat breakfast
and i always make my own burgers,i fry half an onion,a bit o garlic,a tsp of cumin,a tsp of paprika and some oregano then mush that together with Extra Lean mince, sometimes a bit o egg is needed to bind them together, then fry them for 8-10mins each side, yummy!
  • Ooh bit fiesty on here today!

    Green day for me:

B - shreddies (HEB), skimmed milk (HEA)
L - HM SF carrot and corriander soup, HB egg
D - roast spuds (10syns), peas, carrots, swede, cauli, Yorkshire (3syns)
Snacks - 2 x clementines, banana, cheese (HEA)
    Drinks - coffee, soda water

    Total syns = 13

I do still have a HEB left but am off to bed now so my B will be the cheese instead of an A!

its only food and i'm sure i've said that before, its only food, when you're dead the only folk that will be interested in how much you weighed are the pall bearers! i hope i get pall bearers that i don't like,Mars bars here i come!! ;)

    I agree.

    This thread is helpful...sometimes. It's supportive...sometimes.

    It's also ultra(perhaps hypa-) forgiving.

Personally, I agree with every post Wootball's made. (And I think I thanked most of them). I also think SW is a bloomin' good plan for long term pound loss. Whether or not it's the best way to lose (and keep it off) weight long term is something I haven't yet researched.

So I hope we can can go forward from this. SW is an excellent plan, but questioning the details of it shouldn't be a syn.
  • Good Morning, am very happy today, last nights weigh was fantastic I lost 10lb in my first week. Really am delighted because I have been eating so much and never once felt hungry. But on the bad side I had a chinese last night. It was our anniversary and it was either go out or stay in and the weather is awful here so thought a chinese would be nice.
I had 1/2 portion of everything listed so if anyone knows the syns i would really appreciate it or even a guess
    crispy chilli chicken
    breast of chicken curry
    fried rice
a handful of chips i nicked from the kids
    3 profiteroles ( 15 syns )

So hopefully I can do some damage control throughout the rest of the week. Hubby is off today with man flu and this could be my downfall because he is a bad influence on me but have had fruit salad and mullerlight for breakfast, left superspeed soup out of the freezer for lunch and dinner is ???

Our leader also asked us to bring something for the christmas party/ taster session next week, anyone any ideas or recipes?
    Thanks

  • Wow the debate certainly slowed down the thread LOL. Just to lighten the mood a bit more.... an apt joke sent to me yesterday....

    What is a Calorie???????

Calories are the little b*stards that get into your wardrobe at night and sew your clothes tighter :D:D

    It made me smile anyway.

    Today.... Green
B - Mushroom Omelette (1) used a smidge of butter
    L - H/M veggie Chow Mein (F)
    D - Spanish Chicken (B) Brown Rice (F)
    Snx - Mandarin (F) Banana & yog (2) Ryvita (B) triangles (A)

I'm not sure I want to do exercise today so will give it a miss and start up again tomorrow.
