  • can I ask for some help

I bought a prawn sandwich today and it had 18 syns in it (agghrrr!) however I have both my HEB to use. the bread was wholemeal so can I count it as 2 HEBs? if so how many syns does it reduce by?

Weigh-in for me tonight. In a week where I have spent 3 days completely ignoring the plan (Wednesday takeaway, Saturday good old night out on heavy booze and followed by the day after a night out) I'm not expecting good results :D

thats ok but don't expect sympathy from me if you don't lose! :D but i'm sure you enjoyed your indulgencies and feel no guilt ;)

I'm not expecting any sympathy - if I've gained weight it will be exactly what I deserve :)

Have just checked my book but it really depends on whether you are doing Red, Green or EE. As you say you have two HEBs to use I assume it's either red or green. Hopefully you're doing Green! Then you can use the bread as HEB (if the slices were thin) or HEB + 1 syn for medium bread or HEB + 3 if thick bread.

You are allowed 113g of prawns as HEA so it looks to me that as long as you are doing a Green day you can use the sandwich (plus either 1 or 3 syns for the bread, depending on thickness). If it had spread and/or may you will also need to syn those.

    Hope that helps.

It seems a bit tricky and I dont know if i might have to syn some of the ingredients (yeast, sugar, milk powder, etc) or if I dont have to because it's all in shop bought bread anyway (and there are much worse ingredients in that too!)

Also - I remember someone using a certain type of flour for pizza bases that were a HEB - Please could someone let me know which wholewheat flours are HEB??

I'm hoping I can make some HEB bread or rolls so I can stop buying shop bread - I dont eat it that much anyway, I hate the artificial-ness of it and the cost, and it always goes off too quickly!!

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

Not sure I can help with the Pizza bases but I think I read on here somewhere that it's the Tesco Wholemeal crusty mix, but I can't swear to it.

On the HM bread front, it's easiest if you can do wholemeal rolls rather than loaves. As an HEB you are allowed 57g of cooked bread, in order to make them this weight once cooked you need to cut into pieces weighing about 65g as they loose some weight during cooking. You'll need to check the cooked weight before eating because you're machine might be different to mine so experiment a little to find what's right for your machine.

Thanks, I'll get that Tesco flour then. I was just going to make small loaves and cut slices that weigh 57g (with some trial and error is expect!) - is that not ok???
