I don't use squirty cream but at our SW parties the Consultant always reminds people how low syn it is (mostly air I understand). My book's still in the car and I'm ready for bed so not going out for it sorry! But mini meringues are one or two syns each, call it 2 to be on the safe side! that's for each half.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
  • here, I've dragged my way onto the terminally slow SW website (but it's a bit faster tonight)

I am thinking of doing something similar - i dont have pudding rice but i love normal rice so i was just thinking about cooking some then mixing it into my yoghurt in the morning. will give it a try tomorrow and see how it goes!

I am in awe of Mrs M giving up bread for so long - I haven't had any today and to be honest i'm sure if i stuck to it i could avoid it forever, but given the chance i will easily demolish half of OH's big white bakery loaf while he's at work :o

Just had a lovely dinner - tin toms and philly makes a lovely creamy sauce. A bit like a jar of tom and marscapone sauce i used to buy from asds, but much healthier!!!

I have found a ready meal macaroni and cheese in my freezer that i'm going to have tomorrow (getting to the bottom of the freezer...why did it have to snow just when i'm running out of food!:rotfl:)

would someone mind looking up the syns for me please?

I'll be having a green day so the pasta will be free - i will also give up a HEA because of the cheese in the sauce.

    1 serving is 250g (247 calories)

    100g contains....
    Kcal 98.8
    Protein 7.3g
    Carbs 12.7g
    Fat 3.1g
    Fibre 0.4g

    thanks in advance!!

hi hun i made it 2 Syns per package/portion on Green per 100g so 5 in total ?????
    hope this helps xxx
  • hello all, well the new class I was hoping to go to was cancelled due to snow so my next WI will be next week.
the snow here is horrible, we've got loads of it and I haven't been able to get out of my street today in the car so I've had to work from home,(work is 25 miles from home) which I'd rather not do as I'd rather go to work iykwim.
still not back on plan yet but gonna start tomorrow, this whole week has been turned upside down cos of the snow and with it has my routine so I've found it hard to get back on the wagon......so I think I've found some of that glue one of you girlies was on about and I'm about to smear it all over my bum then jump back on the wagon :D

here's hoping my bum lands on the wagon or I'm gonna look very silly :rotfl:

think it will be a green day tomorrow so I'm now off to plan it.

    good nite all

T - veg stew [cauli, cabbage, onions, carrots, peas] made with oxo cube, cornflour [1] split three ways. Doorstep slice [?], b/sauce [1]

  • Whitehall, it may have been on an earlier thread that the actual recipe was discussed (minus the potato "crust") but basically just make a quiche remembering not to add anything too synful and to count any cheese as HEA. The potato crust was def in this thread somewhere, just slice some potato into one layer over your dish and bake/micro it to cook the potato before you put in other ingredients. Sorry, but I am definitely of the "mix it then cook it til it's done" school, no good at amounts, times etc.
I did one last night, I think it was a mixture of yours and someone who threw in !! some chili flakes, it tasted great, must have my HB hates quiche with a passion left over from 50 yrs ago (school dinner of Bacon & Egg pie) and when I got back from the Gym he'd nicked two wedges.
    Many thanks.

I don't personally intend to make any of these cakes or whatever else, as I'd rather just have the real thing and use my syns, but if the modified cake carries less calories and is more nutritious than a normal one, then I don't see the harm in it if a person can trust themselves not to overeat it?

For me, SW is all about learning to modify the food you would eat normally, so that it still tastes good, but it's just better for you?

    Just my tuppence worth! :D
    xx

I competely agree CWM. It is about learning. As I said the other day, there's a certain mystique about food optimising that I think is an (understandable) commercial decision on the part of SW. However I don't think that's the same thing as implying a 'Slimming World knows best' approach which can be patronising. I suppose there must be people who don't feel they can trust themselves but personally I like to understand what I'm doing. That's why I ask so many questions particularly when something seems illogical. If the answer was 'because you can't be trusted' then......
  • Hi all,

Had plenty of time to cook today with being at home, so made a couple of curries in the slow cooker (got 2 slow cookers). Had defrosted some turkey as I'm working through my freezer supplies, and it needed cooking, so one pack got made into a dhansak style curry with red lentils and potatoes in. The other became a chinese style curry. Both delicious! So they will keep me going for a while!

Hope you've all had a good day ;)
