    Hi dizzy

have you decided how you are going to get to the airport? I am on pins for you, I really really really hope that you can get there to the airport and take off? I bet its no probs if you cant get back on time, when I was there my plane back was cancelled adn they put me in a 5* place for 2 days till they could fly us back, all inc ;)

How is the weather looking up there? Still snowing here in the capital

My OH is doing my head in to be honest  he leaves everything to the very last minute!

Been checking manchester airport official site and so far they are running ok with a few delays here and there but telling people to turn up. weve had a bit more snow today, but also a bit of a thaw. weve got more forecast overnight- but then hopefully thats the last of it and its supposed to warm up through the day to 1.

sooooo If thats the case our nephew should be able to drive us as from here to manchester on the main route/motorway doesnt seem to have taken a hammering so bad, as the pennines have shielded it a bit... But you never know whats going to happen between now and then :o I'd personally rather go a day early through the day and get a hotel than travel in the night when its likely to be worse.....but you know what men are like :mad: hes already in a strop because Im moaning for an electric underblanket...and he wont have one....even the dual control ones - and wont let me have a hot water bottle even cos he says they smell :rotfl: Im gonna swing for him I swear;)

Maybe you could try throwing another cereal into the mix now and again? I think there was quite a comprehensive list a few pages back! I usually try and just have fruit and yoghurt, mostly just because it's quick and I'm always in a hurry in the mornings, plus I like to save my HEB/A's for later, as I like to have things like crackerbread and milk if I'm feeling peckish.

Other than that - maybe some toast? You could do some scrambled eggs to go with it pretty quickly in the micro? I'm still trying to get back into the swing of it myself so I'm a bit rusty, but I'll get my thinking cap on and let you know if I think of anything else!

Are these green days you've been doing? I always find I lose more weight on red days? I generally try to have at least 3 red in the week.

When you say "bag of multi-pack quavers" is that just the one packet of crisps?

    xx

lol yes i mean 1 pack out of a multi pack :D

No mine are EE days not green days.
Alpen light are 3 syns each.

Ooooh yes i noticed that typo. I mean 3syns each

Thanks for all the ideas. i do have lots of cereal here. Mini shredded wheat, shreddies, choc weetabix and normal weetabix. I'm gonna mix it all up and see if that works.

The concept of having to use syns is one. Nobody needs to use syns, especially if they are eating a high amount of food classed as free. Losing weight is still just a matter of calories in vs calories out, regardless of where they come from. You could eat 30 syns per day and not have enough calories to survive, dropping ridiculous weight and killing yourself. You could also eat 10 packets of savoury rice (completely free) with a third of veg for every meal, use your 15 syns and put on serious amounts of weight despite having followed the plan to the letter.

Also, the concept of synning things for misuse. Fruit I understand since it is high sugar, but if I can make extremely thin chips covered with Fry Light that are free, crisps are no different. The cellular structure doesn't change, the cooking method doesn't change. Also the chickpea/cous cous cake - imagine I blended the chickpeas and ate them on their own with a spoon and then had an Options Hot Chocolate afterwards, that would be 1.5 syns. But if I put them together, it's about 13. No.

There doesn't seem to be much nutritional science behind some of the decisions - being one of the things I know a lot about, those are the parts of the plan I know I can safely ignore.

You can ignore as much or as little of the plan as you choose, but you're not Food Optimising unless you follow it 100%.

We all know that you will still lose weight as long as you take in fewer calories than you need BUT the plans have been designed to teach people how to eat well and more importantly, how to eat normally, since lots of us have forgotten where our 'stop' button is.

Couscous and chick peas are free food as long as they are used as they were intended to be used - as the basis of a filling meal. Once ground and used to make cakes, they become synned so that we don't all merrily eat cake all day instead of varied and nutritious meals (and there are people who would eat cake all day if they were told it was ok and they'd still lose weight).

You may well know all sorts about nutritional science, but you don't know how the plans are formulated and designed - that is something that SW keep to themselves obviously.

Tweaking the plans (which is what you're doing) could result in a slimmer not getting enough of a variety of foods as believe it or not they really are members who would eat couscous cake and lasagne crisps several times a day to fill up on instead of using them as a 'treat' to be eaten sparingly.

Your weight loss is excellent, but then so is MrsMcCawbers and she follows the plan to the letter ;)

Also, sorry but I have to mention this - every man I ever had as a member in group always, always lost weight faster than the women. It's most annoying but true....probably to do with the fact that most men have more muscle than women.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    Evening,

Just having my dinner quorn burger (0.5), on a WM roll (B) with 7g cheese (1), ketchup (1) and a mug of lentil soup.

Today have had both A + B and 7.5 syns.
