OK so I'm struggling to have breakfast, so lately only end up eating 2 meals a day, is this bad?

In a word....YES!!! I struggle to eat when I first get up so I take my brekkie to work with me and have it sat at my desk. If I skip brekkie completely I end up being starving and totally over eating for the rest of the day.

I didn't end up going to work today and I have tomorrow off as it's my birthday. We've got quite a bit of snow here now and it keeps snowing every now and again. We ended up going to OH's mum's for lunch and it was a bit naughty (surprise surprise!), however she let me go cut my own slice of pie:eek::eek: so atleast I could limit the damage!!! And she let me have banana instead of apple crumble for pudding. I'd already got some beef stew out of the freezer for tea so we'll be having 2 cooked meals today! I think EE will be the best option:

    Brekkie - porridge (HEA&B), banana
Lunch - Tiny slice of pie (12 syns:eek:), mash (2), gravy (2), carrots, sprouts, broccoli, banana, tiny bit of custard (1.5)
Tea - beef stew (2), potatoes, lots of veg

So thats about 17.5 syns just at lunch!!!!! It's a good job we went for a very tiring 1.5hr walk in the snow earlier!!!

    SIGH!

Think I have well and truly ruined it today :(

Started the day starving :( went to pret and had a coffee and one of thier hot granolas ( any ideas?) then I had to hang around for a meeting for AGES in the cold ( hours) and then took myself to the chinese where I had chicken curry and boiled rice ( is this a 5syner? I bet it isnt) then left hanging around for lonmger in the cold where I had a tea ( no sugar) and then snapped and had a hot choc ()

    Ive blown it havent i?

Does anyone know the syn value for Daylesford organic chipolata pork sausages? they are only small :o Was going to have sausage and mash as OH has wanted this for weeks and I said no. (:o) but he has pretty much begged now lol so its on the menu.

I feel today has been a disaster :(
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

    WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP.

I was thinking I could do without the sausages eg just have load of carrots and mash

    :o

I dont know who it was who was saying about winter food, Im with you. I think it is minus 1 today when I was stood outside for hours on end.

    :wall:

For future ref: does anyone know what hot food can be obtained from the likes of pret, eat, starbucks etc. there is always one of them about. I did consider the chewese adn bacon croissant in favour of the granola. I did have skinny milk.

Sighing at myself and my pathetuic efforts that dont seem to work out when Im trying so hard sometimes :(

    Evening ladies :D

Oh my lordy -just had dinner ..... mmmmmmm and then some  -twas a concoction as usual... here is the recipe ...

Meat balls with creamy garlic mushroom sauce
    serves 4

    4 syns per serving
    1. 400g minced steak
    2. 1tsp soy sauce
    3. 1tbs capers - finely chopped
    4. 1tbs chopped pickled gherkin
    5. 2tbs fat free natural yoghurt
    • squish everything together and chill
    • I broke mine into 24x20g chunks and rolled into balls
    • place back in fridge until needed
    • then heat a large non-stick frying pan and drop the meatballs in and colour all over
    • pop in the oven and bake through -meanwhile make the sauce:-
    Creamy garlic mushroom sauce:-
    1. 1/2 tsp oil (1)
    2. 1 large onion -finely chopped
    3. 3 cloves garlic -grated
    4. 300g mushrooms -now I use frozen ones, defrosted and squeezed out well
    5. 142ml pot single cream (14.5)
    6. seasoning
    • heat the oil in a small non-stick frying pan
    • drop in the onion and cook until tender
    • add the garlic and mushrooms and cook until slightly coloured
    • season well and stir in the cream
    • keep over a gently heat and cook (don't have the heat too high as it may split/curdle)
    • once the meatballs are cooked -drop them into the sauce(along with any juices if you like) and keep over a low heat whilst you cook the pasta -then throw in the cooked pasta and toss to coat
Now I had mine with home made wedges as Im on a red day and broccoli -hubby hasd spaghetti and was mighty impressed :p. I only charged myself 3 syns as I gave most of the sauce to hubby ;).
I will be snaffling anymore single cream I see "whoopsed" and freezing as I only have 1 pot in there now :D
Lisa26 -I will post the other recipes once I have made them and tested ;)-would hate for anyone to waste money on ingredients and not like something

Don't give yourself a hard time its only 1 day -
I wouldn't just have tatties n carrots or you might find yourself feeling deprived later and thats always a BAD thing when trying to eat well. I think we are all needing winter foods now -can't remember the last time I had salad :rotfl:...good job I like all veggies too

    My feelings too :o
  • oh dammit that multiple quote isn't working or else I clicked it too many times. Who doesn't like breakfast and/or uses up both HEs on weetabix and milk? Why not mix your weetabix with your favourite fat free yog. It's particularly nice I think with some raspberries or such mixed in. You just crumble the weetabix a bit. The other idea is magic porridge - porridge oats (28g healthy extra = one small handful) mixed with your fave ff yog overnight, add fruit if you wish in the morning. Actually I make it in the morning as I prefer the porridge to still be solid not a mush.

Hi all. I've forgotten the rest. Cannot answer any queries as my book is in the car a mile away and my fingers are too cold to venture into the Very Slow Slimming World Website and anyway I've already forgotten the questions except I'm sure couscous is free, rather than HEB; and ryvita minis are a HEB or can be synned if you wish.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
