  • A very good morning to you all. The snow is coming down thick and fast here now I think it will be like this all day. The snow clearing tractors are out... as fast as they clear it is it white again, how frustrating for the poor man.

Just completed just over 1hr on wiifit... more toning and some yoga today and extra boxing & step instead of running as I find that a bit dull running on the spot. If anyone has any suggestions of other good wiifit type games please shout up.

Boots, hats scarves & gloves are all out and have found out my leggings to go under my trousers too as my poor legs will be like icicles without them.

MrsM you mentioned the other day if we felt the cold more without our extra wobble - YES! But it's worth it and it will feel better come summer time too.

I have decided to have a big push between now and Christmas so will probaby do mainly veggie meals as there is generally less calories to them.

    Today (green)
    B - Opps forgot again.
    L - frittata (F) sauce (1) salad (F)
    D - veggie curry & rice or chips (F)
    Snx - fruit, yog & granola (4) 4 ryvita (B) cheese triangles (A)

Not sure where my other A&B are going to come from though.

  • OK so I'm struggling to have breakfast, so lately only end up eating 2 meals a day, is this bad?

Snap. I don't like to eat as soon as I get up and sometimes forget or can't be bothered to make anything (I am a savoury person so cereal isn't something I eat realy) and then it is lunch time. I don't think it is a good idea to do this though.

I am making frittata today a big one to keep in the fridge so I can just cut a slice and have that... must remember though.

Is it because you are not hungry or is it because you are too busy in the morning?

    Hi All,

Not read through the thread just skimmed the last few pages, well done all losing still. I cam back from holiday on Fri and very pleased that my scales show only a 2lb gain, which is great considering the amount I ate and wine etc I drank. Back on plan today and WI Weds.
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

A bit of both really, I don't really have time to eat before the school run, then by the time I come home and put the baby for a sleep it's gone 10am, I need to stop being lazy really, and planning my days a bit better.
I like weetabix but if doing EE that takes up the 2 HE's on it's own.
  • Dontknowanymore - have you tried Dizzy's breakfast rice? It's good and it's free. Boil pudding rice in water, mix with FF yoghurt.

    Yummy!
  • PS. Be careful with the storage of cooked rice (Dizzy had a problem) - I got this from the Food Standards website:

I've heard that reheating rice can cause food poisoning. Is this true?

It's true that you could get food poisoning from eating reheated rice. But it's not actually the reheating that's the problem – it's the way the rice has been stored before reheating.

Uncooked rice can contain spores of Bacillus cereus, bacteria that can cause food poisoning. When the rice is cooked, the spores can survive. Then, if the rice is left standing at room temperature, the spores will germinate into bacteria. These bacteria will multiply and may produce toxins (poisons) that cause vomiting or diarrhoea. Reheating the rice won't get rid of these toxins.

So, the longer cooked rice is left at room temperature, the more likely it is that bacteria, or the toxins they produce, could stop the rice being safe to eat.

It's best to serve rice when it has just been cooked. If that isn't possible, cool the rice as quickly as possible (ideally within one hour) and keep it in the fridge for no more than one day until reheating.

Remember that when you reheat any food, you should always check that it's steaming hot all the way through, and avoid reheating more than once.
  • have been for my WI, STS, which is good considering we have had 'German friends' visiting so eating out and serious breakfasts etc., but would like to get down more, so I can have some spare capacity for Christmas treats.

Does anyone know the 'value' of Ryvita wholemeal crackerbreads ?

Goooooooooood Morning ladies -from a now SNOWY Germany -ooooohhh its blinkin freezin here... but as I only have to keep popping out to refresh the bird bath with warm water I will cope ;)
Well done on the losses again everyone :T -and to those with itty bitty gains -you will whip them off again in no time ;)

Mags- well done on your losses -the unexpected loss this week might be down to eating more, just be careful as sometimes they reckon it can catch up with you the following week (although I have never understood that myself :p)
Do you think it could be that because you new you had a couple of days where you had "extras" that you were more careful with weighing/measuring healthy extras etc for the rest of the week?
Trixie -Im looking forward to a summer of being able to run around like a looney without turning into a huge red blob :p -Im more of a winter person though -I think its because Im a December baby :D -but it will be lovely next year to wrap up in loads of layers -I don't do it now as I figure the last thing I need to do is make myself look bigger :o
Skintslimmer -thinking of more economical meal ideas -these are some of our faves -proper comfort food too :j:-
    • potato n onion layer (you can add sliced cornedbeef through the middle to keep you OH happy)
    • cornedbeef hash -
    • easy cheesy pasta (uses only 28g of cheese each)- hubby loves it and he is normally a guy who likes lots of sauce with pasta...;)
    • luxury cauli/veg cheese -nice with jacket etc...
    • cheese n potato pie with baked beans...
Im making bacon n cheese lasagne this week -doing it on green and syning the bacon ;)-I will post the recipe if its a good one

Well Im having a red day today and it looks like this:-
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • 28g oats(B)
    • banana
    • apple
    • salmon fillet
    • tomato
    • peppers
    • activia (2.5)
    • frozen tropical fruit
    • hm meatballs
    • creamy garlic mushroom sauce (3)
    • 198g potato (B) -wedged in:-
    • 1/4tsp oil (0.5)
    • broccoli
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • activia (2.5)
    • plums
    • clementines
So that covers my 2A+Bs and 8.5 syns -so I will figure out what to do with the 6.5syns left over -might add some peas/corn to dinner...

I have settled on this weeks main meals and if things go according to plan we will be having :-
    1. meatballs with garlic mushroom sauce -(3)
    2. cheese n bacon lasagne (A+4.5)
    3. corned beef hash (4)
    4. spanish rice with chicken n chorizo (2.5)
    5. braised chinese pork (4)
    6. chicken pizzaiola (A+2)
    7. haddock mornay pie (A+1.5)
I think that lot should keep me on the straight n narrow - Im planning on getting a big vat of cornedbeef hash made as hubby loves it and will take it for a couple of lunches at work -should keep him warm ;) -mind he has one of the spare remoskas at work now so he will take a portion/s of whatever I make for dinner to warm up the following day (makes life a lot easier too:D)

Right I had better get off and get my lunch... have a great day everyone -and keep up the great work!!
    -6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.5

Ta. I'm still a bit stunned by it, to be honest. I shall be careful this week, though - I do not want to put any of it back on. I had been having a bit of a plateau recently - bouncing up and down the same seven pounds for two months. Maybe I've just fallen over the edge? :rotfl:
