  • Yesterday was pretty good for me food-wise:

BREAK - 42g all bran + milk (HEA & HEB)
LUNCH - pasta & ¼ WW roasted garlic pasta sauce (2)
TEA - chicken stir fry + veg + noodles with blue dragon chow mein sauce (2.5)
AFTERS - mullerlight toffee, apple & maple cereal bar (3)

The WW pasta sauce was v. bland, just tasted like normal tinned toms, so I don't think i'll bother buying again.
Used some of the blue dragon chow mein sauce in my stir fry this time, I didn't think it had much of a flavour, but it did make it moist and not extremely dry like last time.

Just wondered what people do with leftover stir fry veg? I don't have any meat to make another stir fry, i do have some rice though I could put with it.... so slightly stumped here!

Had a v. snacky day today.
    didn't wake up till 1.15 :O

had soup for breakfast, with 1 slice of wholemeal bread and a BGTY maple cereal bar for afters (HEB)
then had a few slices of ham. then had a mugshot. then had an apple. Then had more ham. Then had some pickled onions.
Not sure what were having for tea. possibly jacket spuds to use my HEA for cheese.

Do you have any raw prawns? I often use prawns instead of met with leftover stirfry. Can do it with cooked prawns but I think they're a bit tough and chewy if you do any more than warm them through.

I don't actually like prawns or any seafood for that matter (except crab sticks, nom nom nom!). I only really eat bacon, ham, chicken and beef steaks :rotfl:and I never buy steaks as they're too expensive usually.

    .

The chow mein is prob the worst one flavour wise out of all the blue dragon ones :o I find it bland and always end up adding extra garlic & soy to it.
the sweet and sour is lovely 7.5,hoi sin & garlic 9.0 spicy schezchuan tomato 7.5
How about just doing a veggie stir fry with noodles or an egg fried rice with it to use up the rest of the veggies?? I have that quite often as Im not a big meat eater.

Those are pretty high in syns really though, but not crippling if shared between two portions.... might try the schezchuan one, if sainsburys stock it. Not sure if I noticed it on Sunday when I went, but we'll see.

I know this may seem slightly silly, but how do you make egg fried rice? I wouldn't know how to not make it more of an egg and rice bake haha.

And you'll be proud to know I bought my first spice today :T bought some mild chilli powder, and i'll attempt making chilli from scratch next week when I can afford some mince :rotfl:
  • evening all. I like our consultant cos she is still not at her target and knowing she struggles (she's very honest about it!) gives us all fresh hope I think. She has lost a LOT though, the photos are there to prove it. I did briefly have a very young and slender consultant who never showed "before" photos, had her slender mother and sisters with her, and I got the impression she'd lost perhaps 7 lbs. she didn't inspire me; she scared me and slightly patronised me - but that was probably just my impression. I only stayed for a couple of classes.

We had our Miss Slinky last night. I had a rush to get home, changed, feed cats, grab buffet food, fly out again. Rushed into class at the last moment as they were all sitting round as if for a seance and ripped off my boots, coat, cardigan at the scales. I stepped onto the scales and the WIlady said "erm... you might want to pop that away". Little Lefty was peeking out and looking round the room! I'd dressed in such a rush that my arm had missed the armhole of my silk cami-top and ...well, luckily I'm not easily embarrassed. about half a dozen people had their best frocks on, plus the consultant, and the table was groaning with food, we had a lovely time. I don't eat the sweet stuff, and one girl never gets up to eat anything, but still everyone seems to be in party mood when it's a taster night. I enjoy them.

Well done Scarymclary and Master S. - he'll be getting his half stone next week. Everyone seems to enjoy when couples come, whether husband & wife, mother & son, mother & daughter ... we have a few in our group and it's a little competition between them, they always get a big cheer. :) Perhaps I'm at the best group in the UK?

    thank you Slimming World!

well done Autumn on buying some of your own spices, if the chilli is too mild just add more of it! Might be better value to buy hot chilli & add less? Anyway, egg fried rice. I would recommend googling it because that will bring up millions of recipes and you choose the one that fits with your abilities and your cooking equipment ... gas ring, microwave, whatever. All recipes can be amended because it's your ingredients, your taste, and your stomach! Good luck, you are on your way :T

  • oh, and Autumnflower, don't waste your money on WW tomato sauce for pasta. Just cook down (that is, simmer slowly until there appears to be less in the pan than you started with) a regular tin of tomatoes, chopped or otherwise. You can chop them yourself if necessary with a knife or scissors. The addition of some chopped onion, garlic, herbs is always good but not essential for a basic rich tomato sauce.

Cook your pasta separately, drain it, then pour over it the "reduced" tomatoes.

Well done on having a 'good' day nicky it does make you feel smug doesn't it:) Can I ask how much philly you use as a HEB with your pasta? Oh and which philly you use? I'm fed up with tasteless Lo stuff.

You can have 57g as a heb which is just under a quarter of a tub, i dont use quite that much as i boil my pasta using a veg stock cube and and use some of the water to thin it out a bit. My current fave is the sweet chilli one, its lurvely with salmon or grilled chicken mixed in too.

Well my day didnt quite go according to plan, i got a bit stressed after tea. Had both babes screaming their heads off for no apparent reason and i caved and shoved a celebration (or 2:o) in my gob. Then felt super guilty and got my wii fit out and did a load of step again after i put the little _____ to bed (insert your own word(s), mine may not be too kind):rotfl:
One more day before wi, hope its another good one.
