    Morning all,

Sorry I've been AWOL since the w/end, but my time simply isn't my own these days. How I'd find time to go to work as well I'll never know, but just as well I'm a SAHM for now.

It's blinking freezing out there today, but with gorgeous blue skies, so it's a crisp day for us today. The threat of some snow for us later too, but I think we might just be a bit too far south (crosses fingers). Of course the children are all praying for snow, especially after having so many 'snow days' off school in December last year.

So my 2nd weigh in was on Monday evening, and I lost 1lb this week, which got me my first shiny 7lb sticker. My son lost another 1lb too, and is 1/2lb away from his first sticker. The ladies there are all totally in love with him. I've met my regular consultant now, and I can't say I warmed to her as much as the stand-in one, but she seems friendly enough... she's of more senior years, so her approach isn't so jokey. Is it also wrong for me to think that she is still a very large lady, and not the best advert for SW? I know we can declare target when we like, but I'd have thought being a healthy BMI would have been essential for a Consultant. Just my thoughts, but what do you guys think?

So I've not posted my meals for a couple of days, but will put them here now, as I still want you experienced guys to jump in and comment if you can see me going wrong anywhere. I'm trying to syn more these days too, but really struggle to eat after my evening meal, because I've trained myself to not eat after 6pm over the years, as a means of combatting over-eating (I know, it didn't work, and I just stuffed my face before 6pm!)

    Monday: EE
B - Melon, banana, ff yogurt
L - Bacon, Eggs, Beans, tomato, W/M bread (HEB)
D - Beef bolognese, tomatoes, peppers, w/m pasta - I did the bolognese in the slow cooker and OMG it tasted fantastic. It was also ready to eat when we got back from our SW meeting.
    Snacks - Maltesers mini-bag (5syns)
    HEA = 250ml s/s milk

    Tuesday: EE
    B - Alpen light x 2, plum
L - Bacon, eggs, beans, tomato, Muller Ch/cake (1 syn)
D - Baked potato, bolognese (leftovers), lettuce, tomato, peppers, cucumber, salad cream (2 syns), coleslaw (3 syns)

I was absolutely stuffed after dinner, and think I really need to reduce my portion sizes, but it was so absolutely scrummy I couldn't leave any of it. It's definitely become one of my favourite dinners. Hence no more syns eaten. I agree with what Mrs M says about trying to ensure she's having her full quota each day, in order to have something left to 'give' later on.

Today's meal plan is like this:
B - porridge [HEB], banana, nutmeg
L - bacon, egg, tomatoes, beans (darn it, I've run out of mushrooms)
    D - Eat Smart Sausages (4 x 1/2 syn = 2syns), potatoes, mixed veggies
    250ml s/s milk [HEA]

I'll allow myself a treat after tea of a homemade apple pie, which OH has requested for his pack-up this week, so am off to make individual ones later on. I will work out the syns for that later, based on the recipe... it's not going to be low, that's for sure! Got a meeting at my youngest's school in a while, something to do with him having extra maths lessons, and needing to tell me about them? Not sure why, but my guess is that he's not fab at maths, and they are panicking about the SATs coming up next summer. I'm a bit of an old hand at this school routine malarky.

I've also got to fit in a trip to the gym, as well as making the apple pies, cook tea, and then go out to visit a friend this evening, who's husband now works away from home all week.... y'see what I mean about life just whizzing by? I suspect my friend only wants a visit because she knows I'm baking apple pies... I'll have to make double quantities methinks to go round.

I nipped into Aldi yesterday, when fetching eldest from college for a dental appt., and stocked up on fruit & veg, bacon & eggs, and it cost me £15 for 2 massive bags full. My youngest is in love with the Pink Lady apples I got, so can see me needing to go back again very soon!

Have a great day everyone, and good luck to anyone weighing in today.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

  • Morning everyone.

I have just done 38 mins on Wii Fit and am now pooped... MrsM where do you find out how many calories you have burned?

Today (green as they are nice an easy)
    B - fritatta & salad (F) spicy tom sauce (1)
    L - carbonara (F)
    D - Veggie Curry & Rice (F)
    Snx - 4 ryvita (B) quark (F) cuc (F) cheese (A) treat choc (4)

    I need to add another A & B somewhere.. or I might not :D

I peeked on the scales to day and I have put on 0.5lb, I am hoping it is just a blip... but it could be the past 2 weeks not following the plan properly catching up with me. We'll see come Friday.

I have to agree with you on this point. I wouldn't expect the consultant to be skinny by any stretch of the imagination but at least look like they are within a healthy BMI. As this can inspire people on it's own.

I agree, you surely want someone who has done the hard work themselves too?

    Another green day here;)

    Had breakfast 2 x alpen light(B), nana and a FF activia (0.5)

Washed some grapes so will have them for a snack, then will decide on lunch/dinner.

When I did SW years ago our consultant was Huuuuuuuggggeeeeee!!!! SHe certainly didn't motivate me, her 2 helpers were nearly as bad too! I agree that they should be at or near a target that's a healthy BMI. Wish it would hurry up and be 12 so I can have my dinner.....such a long time to wait lol!!

Trying to get shopping bill down and defrost freezer so have been rummaging and found some cauldron burgers which i will have for dinner. They are 7.5 syns each so they better be good:eek:
Just finished off my HM savoury rice, fried it in frylight and mixed an egg through it. Will have a cup of lentil soup or some fruit/yog this afternoon if i'm hungry.

    Good afternoon all
well done on the losses everyone :j

We have another dry day here -although we had slet last night, so it looks like the snow is on its way! (ok-edit that -its snowing :rotfl:)

Trixietoes -on the wii fit game once you have picked your mii you go into "my wii fit plus" -its an orange door and in there it will show you your "wii fit cash " hover the cursor over it and it will tell you the cals -also if you see the pic of a plate and click on it it will tell you what you could eat for the cals you have burnt :p
Im using the EA sport "more routines" disc at the moment as I love step and spar-boxing and you can really burn some wobble on there ;) -Im just about to order their new one it has a heart monitor and is cordless (so no whipping myself when the nunchuck is attatched to the controller) -also they reckon that because its cordless you can use your own proper step/weights etc!!!
Susan -Im like you -I don't suffer much at all -but since I started SW I generally romp through them. I don't even crave junk or anything, oohh occasionally I will want porridge -but I can cope with that :rotfl:

I have to agree that I would expect a consultant to be at least so far through their own weight loss journey -I don't expect skinny minnies -but to know they have proven that the programme works. I really hope I get to be one -but I wouldn't want to do it until Im at goal *or as near as damn it* although that is because I want to concentrate on getting myself to a place where Im happy first and then I can give my 100% attention to helping others. If I remember correctly at WW the leaders have to go to a weigh in once a month to show they are still at goal or heading in the right direction...

Well Im having a green day today and its looking like this:-
    • lemon in hot water
    • 28g oats (B)
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • banana
    • 2 clementines
    • jacket potato
    • baked beans
    • cheese triangle (2)
    • apple
    • activia (2.5)
    • luxury cauli/veg cheese (1.5+A)
    • roast parsnips (0.5)
    • 200ml semi (4.5)
    • fibre plus bar (B)
    • fruit
    • activia (2.5)
so that covers 2A+Bs and 13.5syns -heck at this rate I will manage a full week of using most of my 15 syns a day as planned
We need to nip shopping this evening I need more milk, fruit n veg .... I seem to be saying that quite a bit lately :p -hopefully it will be a quick "smash n grab" trip ... hubby doesn't even know we are going yet *oops* :rotfl:
Right I will get off for now and catch up.. have a great day everyone and keep up the great work ;)

I think processed food upsets a lot of things, not just hormones! I suffer quite badly with migraines, when i was doing atkins i didnt have a single migraine the whole time:) Also seem to suffer less with them now i'm on SW too. The amount of chemicals and junk in processed food cannot be good for you:eek:

I have to see a headache specialist at pinderfields for my migraines and processed foods are def one of the things they warn you about for being triggers. Even with my meds if I ate Junk I would still get frequent attacks.....since starting SW ive noticed a big reduction in them and its far more under control. Im pretty much almost just down to the * week one now cutting out the carp ;)

    Morning,

Well i had my first 'good' day in ages and i have to say it felt good:). Todays gonna have to be another easy food day as i've got ds off nursery again. Dreading the next day or 2 tho as my * week is almost here and its then when i really cant control my hunger and sweet tooth cravings:o
going for another green day today and hopefully it'll turn out summat like this -
B- porridge and cuppa (heb and hea)
L - pasta and philly (heb for philly and sprinkle of cheese)
T - mrsm's cheese n onion pie (hea for rest of cheese allowance)
    S - alpen light x2.
Still got no fruit and never got chance to make my soup so my 5 a day intake has been abismal over the last few days:(

Well done on having a 'good' day nicky it does make you feel smug doesn't it:) Can I ask how much philly you use as a HEB with your pasta? Oh and which philly you use? I'm fed up with tasteless Lo stuff.

Totally agree that consultants should be good SW role-models. Maybe it depends where she started from;). I thought that was how they were recruited as so many of the 'success stories' in the magazines are now consultants themselves. Our consultant is as thin as a pin but I've seen her 'before' pictures and she's lost loads.

I've got a filthy cold and don't fancy eating anything but I'm off to force a grapefruit down to keep me going until teatime.
