Dizzy glad you got there to help your MIL, my mum often gets phone calls about things she has no idea about so anything that makes her think before she does is ok by me.
My MIL is the same.....I can imagine her giving her bank details out if they worded it rightquite frightening ! bless her she is lovely but far too trusting in the big bad world

Hello all. Fitorbust I hope your nephew is improving.
I've been yearning for smoked haddock for a week so I am going to make my version of the "smoked salmon kedgeree" from the EE cookbook for work for the next couple of days.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Hi there - thanks for all the good wishes - I haven't heard anymore as I don't like to hassle my sister in law whilst they are over there. I did speak to her this morning and things sounded OK - he wasn't as well as he has been after previous ops, but we both agreed he is older, and maybe doesn't have the bounce back that the very young do. Dizzy - thanks for the vote of confidence - it means a lot.
I have a slow cooker going with bratwurst sausages, chicken, onions, a portion of dynorod soup, and a tin of baxters game soup bubbling away. It smells lovely.
I have just started using the online food diary - it is fab! I struggled a bit over the past few weeks and gained 2lbs last week so needed to get back to basics!
GandB - sorry to hear about your daughter - chronic illness in kids is so stressful isn't it? They are really ill one minute and sitting up in bed with a sausage sandwich the next!
Off to syn the casserole!
L xxNO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........0 -
OMG - it works out at 9 syns per portion if it serves 6 - good job we haven't had any syns today. The bratwurst were 2.5 syns an ounce and when I dug the package out it was 19 ozs! They have been lurking in the freezer and we are having a freezer eat up session untill Christmas!NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........0

I'm so glad I didn't pick up the bratwurst in Lidl this week then. Mind you, they taste so yummy that they deserve to have that many syns in them. Best wishes for your nephew fitorbust, not a nice thing to have an emergency situation, and I agree, younger children definitely bounce back faster than older ones.
I've just had a sunday roast, and I am stuffed now.
Food for today has been:
EE
B - porridge, with banana and nutmeg, melon
L - bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomato, beans & leftover mash warmed in the pan
D - Roast chicken, SW roast potatoes, yorkshires [6 syns], carrots, peas, cabbage, gravy [3 syns], apple sauce [1 syn]
It's the 1st time I've done the SW roasties and I was so impressed at how well they turned out. We'll be having those more often, that's for sure. I cooked the chicken in the slow cooker, and it just fell apart when I went to carve it, which meant we got all of the meat off the carcass.
Weigh in for me tomorrow night, so I will have to find something to pop in the slow cooker to eat when I come home. I might do something like a bolognese ragu, which I can just heat some pasta up for when I get back. I'll keep it a superspeed day for the rest of the day, and keep meals light in the run up to 6pm weigh in. I'm going to make sure my son and I get there a bit early too, as we seem to arrive on time, but everyone else is already weighed and sitting down. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Doh! Eat Smart Crustless Quiche isn't so smart, I've just discovered (a bit too late, coz I've already bought it), and it's 12.5 syns!
I think I might shove it in the freezer and save it for a treat, or desperate meal another time. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Thanks hun:A Very stressful! They swing from one extreme to the other in record time. Have left my DD in high dependency about midnight, really ill, docs pretty worried. Came back in the next morning and she is up and chatting to the nurses, looking like nothing had happened:eek: They just like to keep us on our toes:cool:The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
