  • they look very glam Mrs M, and I'm sure you will too!

I'm supposed to be out, but I'm snug in here and I sense it's not so snug out there .... so I thought I'd chat to my pretend friends on here instead of flesh and blood ones, is that ok?

Today I tried out our consultant's trick for less faffy SW chips. Cut out the par-boiling stage! it works. I had to eat my lunch in stages though as the chips were ready before the chicken, so were the mixed mediterranean vegetables, so I ate: chips, then vegetables, then chicken! It was still nice and was like my dream of three savoury courses! Supper has been a Mrs M style salad - all laid out nicely in a shallow dish. Thinly sliced potatoes poached in herbs and splosh of water, then layers of raw spinach, capers, beetroot, olives, sliced boiled egg, soused herring, red pepper. Oh it did look pretty, and tasted fresh and healthy.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Well didn't post yesterday as fell off the wagon and bounced about a mile down the road. Our cake sale for children in need resulted in me eating 4 cakes, after work I went shopping and was forced to eat a sausage roll and a millers cookie, then when Igot home I had a cheese and pickle sandwich on white bread, french fries and a curly wurly, but today is another day

B Alpen light 3 satsumas and a muller light

Late lunch Steak, onions mushroom and salad Shape yog and Alpen light

Later I will have laughing cow light triangles and salad bits and curly wurly
  • I can understand the cost if you have to buy it all at once - but each jar will last for up to 15/20 meals for one so it works out much cheaper in the long run! Perhaps you could have some tesco vouchers for christmas and buy yourself some staples (everyone's staples are different, of course) because it can't be MSE to buy things ready made as a student (and my microwave stirfries take about 4 mins, so probably faster than shop bought!). And you'd only need one jar of mayo, because you would add some of your own chilli flakes to make chilli mayo ;) Sorry, not getting at you, I'm very old school when it comes to food, I like to see exactly what goes in! :p

I did think to ask my mum to put sainsburys gift cards on my christmas list, so hopefully i'll get some spare monies to invest in some more appropriate basics :rotfl:

I never actually bought any of the stuff we have in, we got a 'care package' from my OH's grandma when we moved in full of beans, loo roll and condiments. I only actually like normal mayonaise and tomato sauce, but it the thought that counts eh ;)

I always drool at mrsmcawber recipes and then see the list of soy sauce, honey, five spice, paprika, english mustard ect. and I think damn, I need to get me some of these in :rotfl:

What would you guys suggest I should buy first? What is most used ect.?

Hi Autumnflower, there are lots of spice/herb racks available in many of the gift departments, perhaps one of these could go on christmas list, I bought DD one last year from next for £20, weight for weight probably not the cheapest but a good way to get a good selection and then can be refilled with supermarket refill packs as necessary

Personally I'd go for honey, mustard powder and soy sauce first. these are the ones I use the most.

Very good idea that, have seen a few about myself and not too expensive either. Was looking at one in Mr Ts the other day but can't remember how much, was on a reduced shelf though.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Evening all,

I've had a hungry day today. No idea why, because I've eaten plenty all week.

    Food today has been:
B - Melon, pineapple, mango, strawberries with Activia peach snackpot (1/2 syn)
L - Bacon, egg, mushrooms, tomato, beans, ketchup (1 syn)
Snack - banana, slice of ham, kellogs Fibre Plus [HEB]
D - Chicken cooked in my own made up chinese sauce (soy, white vinegar, splenda, oyster sauce, fish sauce, 5 spice & garlic)
Lots of mixed veggies: carrot, pepper, mange tout, beansprouts, onions, spring onions, with egg noodles, I did too many noodles, so had to add to the sauce with some of a Morrison's Eat Smart sweet & sour, which I've still not got the syns for, but only used 1/2 a jar for 3 meals, so I'll guess at (3 syns)
    Milk [HEA]

Have had a lazy day today, but it's been so miserable and gloomy there's just been nothing to tempt me outside to do anything else.

MrsM those dresses look fabulous. I hope you like them when they arrive, and you'll knock 'em dead this Christmas.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home
  • hi all
mrs m your choices look lovely hunny i especially like the first dress !

i am feeling fed up tonight so have come on for a moan
i really can't afford to go to class after monday and i am 3lb off target

i am fed up of writing down what i eat cos i can't be trusted to get it right (i probably eat 6 times a day)

i am fed up of saying "i can't have that"

i am fed up of having been so good for 18 weeks to have lost 8.5 measly lbs

    i am fed up of not being able to eat foods that i consider to be reasonably healthy without synning or healthy extra-ing them;
    granary bread
    sunflower seeds
    dried fruits especially apricots
porridge (28g is a sparrows portion)

i don't even want to lose weight any more but i know without the structure of SW i will just go and eat everything i am missing and then some.
i know there isn't anything anyone can do to help me i need to do it myself but i am crying inside with frustration and it helps to write it down and get it out.

    thanks guys :(

why not just declare target then ?? you wont have to pay for a start and that will you give breathing space to relax and probably lose those 3 lbs ??
your target isnt set it stone so you could always lower it at a later time ??

scary - if thats what your gym instructor has advised for you and you enjoy it thats fair enough :)
