  • I woldnt mind making it from scratch, howver it's just too expensive to buy all the seperate things for it on a student budget. I can't really justify spend £10 on just sauces, even if it will work out cheaper in the long run. I literally have no basic things in the cupboards, I have viniger, brown and red sauce, mayo, chilli mayo and salad cream. That is totally it :rotfl:

Thanks for the syn value for the blue dragon suace. Does anyone know how many syns are in the co-op chinese stir fry sauce? it's only 80p :D

I can understand the cost if you have to buy it all at once - but each jar will last for up to 15/20 meals for one so it works out much cheaper in the long run! Perhaps you could have some tesco vouchers for christmas and buy yourself some staples (everyone's staples are different, of course) because it can't be MSE to buy things ready made as a student (and my microwave stirfries take about 4 mins, so probably faster than shop bought!). And you'd only need one jar of mayo, because you would add some of your own chilli flakes to make chilli mayo ;) Sorry, not getting at you, I'm very old school when it comes to food, I like to see exactly what goes in! :p
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Dinner has been eaten, so I'm going to list my food for today:
    Green Day
B - 2 x alpen light [HEB] with a MacD white coffee (b/fast on the move thankfully sorted)
L - Banana, mango, Nom yogurt (1.5 syns) --- I know, far too little, but I had to dash out again]
Snack - Wafer thin ham [HEB], Nom Mango & Passionfruit Yogurt (1.5 syns), banana
D - Linguine pasta, Eat Smart Tomato & Mascarpone pasta sauce (1/3 of pot 4 syns), mixed salad of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, pepper, spring onions, Eat Smart Caesar dressing (0.5 syns)
    Milk - [HEA]

I'm still feeling a bit peckish, so know I've not really eaten enough today. I hadn't initially intended to have breakfast out, as I'd thought I'd be coming back home, but after running both my 2 older boys to college, the eldest told me I'd be finished an hour and a half later... hardly worth me driving the 10 miles back home, then turning round to come back again. So, I went to Morrisons, spent too much money, and grabbed some Alpen bars, nipped into MacDonald's for a coffee.

After whizzing back home through the fog, it was back to do some chores and DIY. Before I knew it the time had flown and it was gone 1pm. I needed to get to the gym, and home again before the younger boys came back from school. I felt peckish, but didn't want to eat too much before exercising, so it was fruit & yogurt, then off again.

I've experimented with my first Green day today. I've done EE so far. I think I will need to have some fruit & yogurt, and maybe a treat of a kitkat with a cuppa in a mo.

Autumnflower - I found the sauce you were asking about.

Hang on I have another 1 in the cupboard

OKay it's creamy cheese it just had broccoli in it !!LOL so I'll be on a green day and it's 2

Ooop had ham for lunch arghhhhhh

HELP have I ruined my day??

Depends how much ham you had - but of course you haven't ruined it.

Count the cheese you had on the JP as a second HEA and some of the ham as a HEB. That way, you would only have to syn a bit of the ham if you had more than a HEB's worth.

    Minor blip :)

HEB of ham on a green day is 85g. If you've got any left, go weigh it and you might get to have some more :)

so they had fibbed then? Even if you got the wrong end of the stick as to why you were attending the hospital. That makes me so mad, I hate people blaming someone else. anyway at least you know now what's happening when :D

    :j

Yes they BIGGGGG fibbed  bit naughty that isnt it, My sis in Law is a sister in intensive care and said to complain to PALS? but to be honest I think maybe the Secretary will probably put her two penneth in as she wasnt very happy apparently ;) Alls well that ends well tho.....because its 1 1/4 hour drive each way to the hosp and I was supposed to drop my Dalek ear back at hearing and balance when I saw the Consultant - it means I cant do that now until after my hol (oh dear, I'l have to take it with me and use it to listento the shows in the evening :T :D )

the blue dragon ones are only about 59p in asda.....presumably the same(ish) in other supermarkets might be worth you looking for some of these? they do make more than 1 stir fry portion so theyre not bad syn wise if you split it.

Oh and while I'm here can anyone help me with lunches for work - I've gotten back into bad habits of a shop bought sarnie, crisps & chocolate buttons which obviously has to stop when I rejoin.

I don't have use of a microwave, but do have a food flask (for savoury rice - barely warm by 1pm) but am stuck for new ideas other than salad for EE/red (obviously sarnies, but don't always want to use my HEb on bread) :o

    Ta muchly

How about making SW quiche and having that cold.....that would fill you up and have soup in your flask?

Im loving this multi quote toy well done G & B :T:T:T
