Good day so far today : EE

Brekkie : All Bran HEB, ML, thawed berries

HEA : Milk in tea through the day

Lunch : Falafel 3 syns, cous cous (put rather a lot of additional chilli flakes in this...wooooo!), salad, dressing 2 syns

Dinner : Chicken stir fry, lots of veggies, noodles, sauce 2 syns

    Snacks : 1 banana, 1 apple, 2 satsumas

So - that leaves me 44/105 syns for the last two days of my week - that should cover tomorrow's lunch out nicely :) And I got to drink a bottle of wine this week. I love this plan!

What sauce do you use in your stir fry? mine always come out really bland, but im not much of a cooking expert and don't know what to put in it to make it taste nice and non bland.

I'm going to have a green day today
    Breakkie/lunch - All Bran (HEB1) & milk (HEA1)
Snacks - 1 x BGTY maple cereal bar (HEB1.5) apple
Tea - jacket spuds with salad and cheese (HEA2)
Snacks - BGTY Maple cereal bar, banana & toffee mullerlight (HEB2)

Need to go shopping to grab some salad, and some stuff to go either in a chicken curry or stir fry.

It's called Yoshida's Spicy Wing and Rib Sauce. I get it in huge great bottles from Costco. It's an American import.

Looking at the ingredients, it's basically water, soy sauce, mirin (sweet chinese wine), pineapple juice, brown sugar, vinegar and spices. I also put a lot of chilli flakes in because I like spicy food.

If you can't get that, you could try the SW sauces book - there's a lot of stir fry sauces in there that are very low syn or free.

The blue dragon sachets are anything from 5 syn for chow mein to 9 for sweet chilli & garlic (but if you make a stir fry for 4 people with it its not so bad syn wise)

If I make my own I just usually throw some garlic, soy sauce, ginger, chilli flakes (and sometimes a little chinese 5 spice) in the wok.... its all syn free then :p

Oh wow! Good job I wore my interview suit then!;)
I use my syns on a small glass of wine, a cappuccino, a meringue nest, some creme fraiche.

hi all, I've been doing SW at home for the past few weeks, now I'm thinking of joining a class but not sure whether I should, I do miss the community and support aspect of it but at the same time I begrudge paying £5 per week and having to pay if I miss a class (work can be quite hectic and I don't always get home before 7pm)
So what do I do I really want this time to be the time i lose the weight i need to
    opinions welcome

It's more relaxed than it used to be. They do cater for shift workers and holidays. Don't forget you can pop into other groups not just the one you're registered with so you might not be able to make an evening one but there could be a daytime one elsewhere.

I have approx an 18 mile round trip to get to my evening group but I go with a friend and we take turns driving. It's also in a rural area and at this time of the year these minor roads are not good.

Personally I think £5 is fine IF you have a positive and enthusiastic consultant who leads the group well and doesn't allow negative people to take over. I used to HATE it at the other group when people used to say "I've had 10 G & T's, a Chinese, an Indian and Fish & Chips this week and still lost weight." The next week they'd be back complaining that they'd gained weight and SW doesn't work!!

Id say you're definately not an Alien then.....the meringue nest & creme fraiche pushes you towards the sweet corner

    Congratulations.....you've got the Job!!!:T:T

I think it's the consultant thing that's putting me off, I've been to slimming world approx 7 times in the past 10 years, only twice have I had a really good consultant, the other times the class I went to was various different ones all run by the same consultant and although she appeared enthusiastic at first there was something about her I wasn't sure of and I couldn't put my finger on it,I never put my all into it for various reasons but it was her attitude that kept putting me off as well, (she's very false and is only interested when you're losing weight, otherwise she never really bothers with you)
I rejoined in January this year first meeting fine, went back the next week and my old consultant was there as she was covering the regular consultant's holidays (she does this for most of the consultants in the area as well as having 5 classes herself)
I never went back, in fact I nearly walked out when I saw her there.
the two good consultants I had don't do any classes anymore so what I think I need to do is join one either near work or one in my local area where I know she won't be covering anytime soon.
I just don't like her and she triggers off feelings of failure every time I see her :(

    Evening all,

Quick question guys, has anyone had the Morrisons Eat Smart Sweet & Sour sauce in a jar? I have been searching online, and on the SW site to find the syn value and can't find it. I'll input all the values in the calculator otherwise, but thought someone here has probably had it before and know it anyway.

    Thank you!

  • Hi everyone - first of all :grouphug:to all those having job woes themselves or OHs. We have been through that in the past few weeks and my DH survived, but we had a quiet moment for the 2 people in his department that didn't.

Dizzy - your story about your op and m-in-law made me smile. At least you will get the op when you get back relaxed and refreshed after a fab hioliday! It makes me wonder how many misunderstandings there are in the NHS world - we all sit like rabbits in headlights when we see the consultants as it is usually something a bit scary and unknown.....

I am back on the straight and narrow again after a shaky couiple of weeks, and have renewed my online membership for a year, as it works out about £12 a month, and I felt it was a mental kick up the @r$e to me to make the committment for the year! I could and WILL be at my target weight by this time next year.

I have had a nice drive in the fog today down to Clumber park to meet my photography boyfriend to get his old camera which is going to be my new camera:j.
For anyone who is interested it is a Nikon d300 with every lens known to man and 2 scary camera bags full of stuff. It's going to take me untill Christmas to get my head round everything.
I am a keen landscape photographer and this will replace my Sony Alpha 300 which will go on ebay when I am sure this is the camera for me:D.

We are having a catching up weekend this weekend, and I have a photography job to finish - a friend liked my Northumberland pictures and asked me to do 14 prints for his boardroom, so we are busy putting them onto sheets of optical acrylic to go on the walls. It is quite scary as they can ruck up if not perfect and we have to start again!

Anyhow - I have gone on long enough - wishing really good SW vibes to everyone this weekend - WE CAN DO IT!

    L x

PS can I book my place in the aliens corner - savoury every time for me:T:T

NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........
