I've been up for hours - yawn.
My nephew who is 13 was rushed into hospital (LGI) last night as he has some shunts in his brain and they had blocked. He has had surgery and is sleeping it off now. I can never sleep when these things happen - he has been ok for about 5 years now so this has been a shock. Hopefully all is well.
Must go and get dressed....

Oh I really hope all is welland hes on the mend real soon hun......LGI are great tho - they did my Brain Ops and the surgeons and nursing staff really are amazing, hes in good handsx x

Any other ideas for the base of a quiche? I tried the mash [not that keen], had thin sliced potato this week [was better] is there anything else that people have tried and succeeded with?
Have you tried ham as a base ? (using it as HEB if doing green?)
I sometimes pan fry chopped onion & potatoe in frylight with peppers then put that in as a base just for a bit of a different texture/taste0 -
Just about to serve up a delicious Sunday roast. I've made (for 4) Roast Chicken, Roast potatoes (in Frylite) Broad beans, cabbage, peas & carrots, stuffing balls (which I'll syn), yorkshire puds (syns) and gravy (syns).
I have not had my Cappuccino this morning to save some syns and I'll have free fruit for pud.
I have been on an 8 mile bike ride this morning so I reckon I deserve it!0 -

Hi All,
Please see below:
Postal Scam:
Can you circulate this around especially as Xmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:
A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a Premium rate number).
DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize.
If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £315 for the phone call.
If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 020 7239 6655.
For more information, see the Crime Stoppers website:

Hugs fitorbust, my daughter has been in and out of hospital since she was born, lost count of the number of ops she has has so i know how stressful these things are. Hope he recovers soon.
Dizzy - the postal scam is an urban myth, check out the 'praise, vent and warning board' there is a thread on it. It resurfaces every year in some guise or other.
Found the thread here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/294447 save you trawling the boards for it.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

I thought of my MIL straight away, we arrived at her house the other day as she was on the phone to some guy who was telling her her laptop was sending messages out that it had probs (the scam thats going about at the mo) she had the laptop open and was doing exactly what he was asking  Mr Dizzy took the phone and told him exactly where to shove it and he hung up....then rung back trying again so we told him we were phoning the police....scary tho that she nearly got had (luckily she isnt actually on the internet and only uses it for playing patience on)

autumnflower wrote: »I woldnt mind making it from scratch, howver it's just too expensive to buy all the seperate things for it on a student budget. I can't really justify spend £10 on just sauces, even if it will work out cheaper in the long run. I literally have no basic things in the cupboards, I have viniger, brown and red sauce, mayo, chilli mayo and salad cream. That is totally it :rotfl:
I spotted this online today, and thought of you.

Scam or not I emailed it to my Mum, it won't hurt to make her think before she phones things shes not sure of
Dizzy glad you got there to help your MIL, my mum often gets phone calls about things she has no idea about so anything that makes her think before she does is ok by me.Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
