If you become a Pro-Merchant seller can you get the buyer waiting list?

Yes! For what its worth! :j

To be honest its not a great deal of use unless you like bedtime reading and something which will put you to sleep :p

Thanks Amazombie. I've only ever sold one book on Marketplace. I sell mostly video games and I was hoping the Buyer Waiting list would be helpful. Oh well!

The software/games and video lists may actually be of more use because there arent so many items as books so easier to comprehend and remember.

Great news, my buyer removed his negative feedback for me! :j So my feedback is still not perfect but much better, and my sales seem better over the last few days too, and I have just listed about 40 books.

I am looking to increase my stocks of book (currently have about 390 listed) - but there doesnt appear to be any car boots in the area at the moment and I find the charity shops are too expensive. I have tried auctions (successsfully a couple of times). So....... where do you get your books at this time of year.

I had thought of placing a advert in local shop but DH not sure whether this would work - says I may end up rubbish books.

    ANy suggestions?

I'm lucky enough to have a bootsale that continues throughout the year, so it does happen, ours are advertised in our local paper so check that out in case you are missing one, if not look out for towns nearby, if you dont mind a bit of travelling. Same with charity shops, some of the villages outside of my town have some good charity shops, but luckily I have 3 that have books that I buy from regularly, the rest are rediculous! Look out for some local auctions, do a google search, that's how I found one of mine, then there is ebay, although I try to stick to closing down bookstores or ones that I can almost be sure are not just selling duds. Then there is freecycle, and book fairs.

    Hope that helps.

  • I've seen a number of book descriptions where the seller says that they wrap the book in bubblewrap and then use a jiffy, is this necessary? does anyone else use 2 layers like this?

Currently I wrap the book in clingfilm to keep it nice and tight, then put it just in a jiffy, with a card stiffener if it's thin. I've not had any poor feedback about this so I assumed that this was the norm.

Finally got internet in our new house on Thursday so Friday night listed about 25 things but nothing sold over the weekend, however got into work this morning and had just sold one of my 'old' books I had on there and it's made it into this weeks payout so I haven't broken my payment every fortnight either :j

That sounds excessive to me, if something was old/rare I might but does sound ott, especially as that could mean the difference between large letter and parcel rates for postage.

I accuired some little plastic bags from work, for sending out booklets, I use one of these then in a jiffy and like you haven't had any problems.

I have been having problems with Marketplace the last two days. I sold an item yesterday but it is still showing in my "Your Marketplace Open Listings" page (but not on the follow-through link). It isn't showing in "Your Marketplace Closed Listings" as it should and normally does.
It is showing as sold in "Your Marketplace Orders". I received the "Sold Now" email and the money has been deposited into Amazon Payments.

I listed two items a few minutes ago and only one has shown up on the "Your Marketplace Open Listings" page. The other listing is showing up on the actual name but not on my account.

What is going wrong?! I have never had this problem before.
  • Looks like you've hit a string of glitches, have you looked on the Amazon sellers board to see if you're not alone?
