Well done to everyone on their sales recently :T
I'm itching to get back on Amazon, moved house recently and no internet in our new place yet - but should have some tomorrow.
Between the middle of August (when I got back from honeymoon and listed about 40 things, 16 I'd bought and the rest my mum had given me) and Christmas (when I took my listing off) I sold something a fortnight at least (well had a payment a fortnight, exact figures are at home but about 3 things a fortnight seems to be my average.
Collected 31 things from my parents house over Christmas - checked each one on amazon whilst I was there to make sure it was worth bringing them back - limited room in the car!!
Weighed them all last night and worked out how much postage should be as some are quite big and don't want to miss out on postage costs so just waiting for the internet to come back and will get listing like mad - thought I could do it at work but a big box of books wouldn't go down well and by the time I've written all the titles, conditions etc out I will have the internet.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's tales, triumphs and tips over the year ahead - happy selling :jInitial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Just had to share this experience with you all. I sold a book by someone called Pat Chapman about Bangladeshi curries. The person who had bought the book? Pat Chapman! Well I have no idea if it was the one and the same, but it does seem likely.
Also it was the only copy on Amazon! Dumbo here has been very remisss of late in keeping up to date with current pricing, resulting in two books recently being sold which I could probably have priced much higher. Oh well, that has to be another New Years Resolution.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Had a sale today (not bad was £18!) and have received an email from the buyer giving me their phone number in case there are any problems.
Unusual but nice touch if they can't get to their email.April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£1500 -

Hi larmy, you'll have to ask him if he really is the famous curry man himself and then you'll know for certain. I've had 2 JR Hartleys, curiosity got the better of me and I asked both of them to confirm0 -
AT I did not ask, but his email address had the word curry in it!!! It just seems funny them having to buy their own book!:)Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Just received a little old cook book called the Paupers cookbook - Jocasta Innes. It was described as good and considering its age is not bad atall, just yellowed. However it was dirty on the cover and a quick wipe could have made it presented so much better. This annoys me! Another sign that sellers do not take as much trouble as us creme de la creme on here!:DGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Both of my JR Hartleys said that the publishers only give them a small handfull as freebie perks so if they wanted to give any away they had to buy them like anyone else
I used to have a Pat Chapman video.....0 -
Firstly thanks ffm for your advice over my my sale, i tried to email my buyer but it kept bouncing back so will have to cross fingers that everyone will be happy !
having a good old start to the year, few sales that are adding up to a bit of pocket money ! Ive been finding some good buys lately in my 2 local charity shops, today I found a movie sound track that i paid 50p for that only has 1 other listing at £40  i nearly fell off my chair - ive put it on at half that as even that is a great return. In total i paid £2 for 6 items that have a potential sale value of just over £45 so lets hope that they sell
I also tried to give something back to my fav charity shop by buying a load of raffle tickets - only to win a prize :rotfl:

I dont know what is going on AT but the last three books I have sold are as follows.
The Pat Chapman book Bangladeshi Cooking
Cooking the Persian Way
and Indian Resteraunt Cooking by guess who - Pat Chapman! (not sold to him though)
The Persian one though was a result as it cost me £1.00 and sold for £21.50 (pre postage and it is heavy, but still).:)Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
