Typical - I posted my first successful Amazon sale since Xmas about half an hour ago. Just checked my emails and I've sold another!
Not that I'm moaning about selling books ofcourse!Let the decluttering continue.

Stumbled on to this site yesterday and was shocked that I could make money this way ! I have bought a few things from Amazon but thought there really wouldnt be a market for 2nd hand books - and even if there was that there really wasnt any money to be paid by selling them for 1p.
Now I am planning to raid my house to get stuff to sell and am going to my local charity shops to look for books over the weekend.
Can any kind powerseller here please pm me the list of books which have pre-orders ? ThanksI have learnt that living life to the fullest gives you a much better high than alcohol or drugs !0 -
Hi there Riyazi, welcome to the thread! the pre-order list is 27,000 titles long, can you memorise them all before your trip to the charity shops?
I'm a pro merchant but can't get into the list but someone else will be able to help I'm sure0 -
Riyazi,
Sometimes knowing the 'type' of books is more useful than trying to remember 27,000 titles. I do still make the ocassional bad buy, but quite often you just know a book is likely to be a good seller.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi there Blue, you're number 64, wear it with pride0 -
OMG - 27,000 !!! Thanks for that - I thought it might be list on a few pages which I could print and take with me. But 27,000 is too much even to do that
Will try to see what I can get based on your guidelines - thanks to all those who contribute hereI have learnt that living life to the fullest gives you a much better high than alcohol or drugs !0 -
Good point from Soo - you eventually get a feel for what's likely to be a good buy, just steer away from anything that sold in the millions, this includes the type of book that people give as gifts like current biographies etc.
If you can make a note of the ISBNs on your phone or paper you can check them out at home then go back to the shop later in the hope that they'll still be there.
edit - Green Met has a wanted list that's a bit more manageable0 -
:j :j Hooray, my WHINGE from yesterday must have worked, sold an old Uni book this morning for £13+ so that's not bad.
First sale of the year so hope its the first of many. Am not back at work yet so got it posted out this affy and have been through all my listings to check prices etc but noticed some people are doing 'silly' reductions. On those ones am not tempted to price match as no doubt theirs will sell and I'll be the lowest price again after that - don't want to be giving them away

Teapot, I have just relisted some books (I'm not a pro seller) and many of them I had to increase my price on as mine were cheapest by far. Some though, especially where there are US mega listers had dropped like a stone and would cost more to post than the net income, so I've left my prices where they are and hope they settle back again soon.
There was one big cookery book for instance with some mega listers in the silly £50-£60 area and someone in at 1p, on a book that I would guess is about 2KG. I've left mine at £12 which is in line with the majority of other sellers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
