  • For those who are using Firefox ( free and wayyyyy better than IE), can I recommend a free add-on called "clippings"

It is a simple text saver so you can have numerous whole sentences or paragraphs accessed by a right click of the mouse and having its own simple name. Saves heaps of time when doing descriptions and its easy to add another - type it once and then copy and paste to clippings and give it a name - ta-da!! - new one saved for ever! You get instructions of course ;)

All free as are all the firefox add-ons .... I had to buy one to use for my MicroSoft stuff and whilst it isn't free it is also very good - does the same thing. For details please ask.

    Hope this helps someone! :A

Re signed books..Mine go much better on ebay than on Amazon as you get a chance on Ebay to put something in the auction title about 'signed' copy.

Soo - who stll likes the joke that Terry Pratchett books are worth more unsigned than they are signed because they are rarer (the lovely man signs everything!).

Well I got back from the car boot (indoor) clutching trophies of medical textbooks. I have one which is a 3rd edition and unlisted although Amazon list the 2nd Edition and the 4th ( the latest) but it says I cant list the 3rd - doesnt make much sense to me - is there something I am missing??? ISBN 0702017391

    Advice appreciated!!!
    TIA

I don't know actually, he will often do a generic greeting if you ask but I'm not sure how it affects the prices. I even have some (my own copies and definitely not for resale) where he has made quiet strange remarks about hedgehogs, which only the most dedicated fan would recognise.

In fact, he always says he is so amazed at people liking his work that he will put anything anywhere if asked, which is a lot better than some 'celebrities' I've met who prefer to charge for each and every autographed copy they do.

    Hi All

recently I have been steadily selling 1 or 2 books a week (fine by me as I don't sell in huge quantities - gradually trying to declutter) but it's gone really quiet and i haven't sold a book for a couple of weeks. Is anyone else having the same problem?

Yep, my books are obviously turned off at the moment too. Having sold loads of books and made my challenge target I now haven't sold any for days.

  • Finally sold another book after a week. I bought an ex library book on Saturday Bobbin Lace Making (Paperback) by Pamela Nottingham for 10p and it sold for £2.78. That's 4 books in total for my Nov/Dec challenge.
My mantra is "Never pay full price!" ;)

I took a game to a car boot with a £5 sticker on it and brought it back home. Put it on Amazon for £15 last night and it sold in 10 minutes.

I feel like jumping up and down in excitement since I've been on this thread.

Did notice though that the charity shop which was very cheap last week is quite expensive now for books - obviously an amazon CS in that shop ?:j
