  • You may recall AT was helping me with codes for Mail Lite Envelopes from Viking, I wanted 'buy 2 get 1 free' but the website would only offer 'buy 2 get a cafetiere free'!

Unfortunately AT's codes didn't work for me and I tried phoning Viking to ask if they could change the offer - I obviously don't have AT's charm 'cos the bloke said he couldn't possibly change the offer :(

So, I logged on and asked for a catelogue to be sent to me, the first response was - sorry can't send you a catalogue 'cos the prices are shown without VAT and you buy from the 'home user site' When I explained that I use all my hundreds of envelopes for my business they relented and sent me a catalogue with the all-important 'offer magazine'

    - F I N A L L Y -

Anyway, a big thank you to AT - I now have the new codes and have managed to buy 4 boxes of D1's with 2 boxes free at a total price of £44.60 = 7.4p per envelope.

Overall, because I also bought some labels and bubble wrap, I estimate that I saved over £21 by taking AT's advice and getting a catalogue.

    A very happy FFM :)

  • Hi FFM - great news, you'll get these special offer magazines every 10 days or so now. I'll tell you what's really weird - most of them come without an envelope or plastic mailer, just loose in the post AND THEY ARE NEVER CREASED UP OR TORN! how does that work then?
  • YAY sold another book this morning, so that's a total of 5 down 25 to go before the end of December.

I'm having a disaster and am so upset I could cry.

My PC died, I've lost everything (I'm on a borrowed PC for a few minute today but won't have a lot of access after this).

I know I can close down my Amazon listings, but the worst of it is...I'm rather foolish in that I keep everything on my PC, all my accounts, all my sale history and tracking information, and worst of all (hangs head in shame) my 600+ Amazon stock list telling me where each and every book is located.I am in a complete state of shock. I've no hard copies of anything.

Even my 'real' work is all on there, all my maps and dates I need to be places for the net 6 months, I work completely online I do nothing by hard copy. All my reports, all my sources for stuff I've written, all gone.

Am going to phone a rather expensive PC man this morning and thrwo myself on his mercy.

Otherwise, how long can it take to re stock take 600 books?

  • woweee soo - that's terrible, it's so easy to just pile everything into the computer and assume that it's safe, I'm just the same.

Hopefully your PC man is as skilled as a brain surgeon and can retrieve everything
  • Hi Soo

I will keep my fingers crossed for you - what a disaster. This happened to someone I know at work and they managed to retrieve alot of his information - apparently they put his hard drive into the freezer - don't ask me what that does but it apparently worked.

Sending you some good computer vibes.

Is it like when they put an accidentally amputated finger in a bag of frozen peas?
