That is such bad luck, you must be fed up -:p is there a way to save a copy of Amazon listings does anyone know? Think I'd give up if I lost all mine, I've only got 150 but couldn't bear to sit and re-list them all with descriptions.0 -

You need to be pro-merchant to do it but theres a guide on the Amazon seller connection board see:

Luckily I sold no Amazon books today as I was worried that someone might switch my books back 'on' and I'd have a days delay in posting, but for once I'm pleased nothing sold!

Soo, it's good that you didn't lose everything, I haven't used Turbo for months now but I remember having to click a backup thing every few weeks, doesn't that save it somewhere?
If you have lost it you might want to look at Auctiva because you stuff isn't stored on your computer at all, it's all on theirs both listing and photos. This is good because it's remote and you can log in from any computer to work on it and bad because if they're having maintenence you can't do any work for a while, on balance I've found that there is too many good things about auctiva (like free massive photos and templates for a start) to outweigh the bad.0 -
can somebody confirm that this is a scam email ?
I would like to purchase this book from you and have it shipped airmail to my customer in time for Christmas. Amazon doesn't allow me to purchase it from you. Can I deal with you directly?

Hi Dawn
Well, first off it could be a scam. If it is a high priced book I would be more suspicious. Have you checked to see if you are offering it as an International delivery option, or maybe you are only offering it to the UK or to Europe rather than Worldwide? Maybe it was a book that weighed too much to offer with airmail delivery - if this is the case you could relist at a higher price to cover airmail costs and tell the buyer to try again (explain the price rise).
There are countries that Amazon do not accept Market Place Payments. I have copied this from one of the help pages (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=3149461):
Note: Amazon Payments only supports deliveries to the following countries: Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States (including US protectorates).

So my 'sell 103 books in a month' challenge ended with me selling 65, the reasons I'm offering for this are -
None of my books are really suitable as gifts as such so people may be spending just on gifts at this time of year rather than buying for themselves
and
The target figure was based on my best month (by volume) which was august when I sold lots of kids vids that were presumably wanted for the summer hols.
Having said that my undisclosed takings target was pretty much what I was hoping for so I'm content with how it worked out.
My new target from now till the end of December is to process 3 plastic crates of books that for one reason or another are not amazonable and need to go on greenmet, swapit, ebay or charity, I don't attribute any real value to them because I didn't *buy* them, they are all leftovers from auction boxes and I've already had the profits out of the rest of the haul, so I may just take them around a number of charity shops and cash in on the karma!
Speaking of the mystical....I've been decluttering (the feng shui principle is even if it's neat and tidy in a drawer or cupboard it's still clutter if it's not of any use to you) and found no less than 16 bookmarks that have all come out of various bought-to-sell books, well that's my Christmas shopping done then....:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Hi,
Can i get some advice please,
Ive found a market trader who is selling an item im after quite cheaply but they ship from hong kong. this wouldnt bother me normally except their registered address is the uk.
So for postal charges I pay them Uk shipping rates, good for me as its cheaper, but does this mean im not likely to receive the item or are they just drop shipping and taking it out of the profit ??

Maybe they are one of those 'out of print' or 'hard to find' booksellers? Could they also have listed a book they don't actually have? I keep reading about some sellers who do that... Is it an older or out of print book? Not sure what to suggest as you say its not an expensive item but if you are unsure or have a gut feeling just email back saying you are not able to sell outside of Amazon because of receiving payments. One scam that does happen a lot is that the scammer overpays massively & asks for the extra amount to be repaid by you which you then subsequently lose.... If you're not keen its only £1.75, I'd not bother
