Even the dogs are hiding! Listed some 30 books on Sunday after reading here for ages - and have sold 4! Moving house soon so going through the boxes of books before taking the no-hopers to the car boot on Sunday - though I will probably come back with a load more to sell.

Many thanks to all here for their stories - and the help posts. :T

p.s. Can I have a number please? Anything less than 55 would be good - make me feel younger!! :rotfl:

Hi Ann, welcome to MSE and the Amazon Obsessives Helpline - you're right about coming back with more books from the boot sale, it's where most of mine come from during the summer, there are just 2 more round here then I'm back to the charity shops on the prowl.

Number 53 is the next number....
  • I had a £20 pending book yesterday afternoon, it was too much money just to sit on my hands and wait so I emailled and asked if it would help if I relisted so he could try another credit card as I assumed that it was an expiry date problem.
He emailled this morning to say he still wanted the book(all the others listed were £155+) so I rewrote the listing and he bought it.

I just need to remember that Amazon will be relisting it tomorrow and cancel it...doesn't do much to my target of sale numbers but it is adding to my sale value so - flippin' great :j
  • Hi Guys
Quick response needed here if you can. Listing books and hey presto this last one has buyer waiting. Only 1 listed at £64 from America and the buyer waiting price is £7 - how do I do this ??? Do I list it at £7 or go to say £25 and hope he is feeling generous?
    Any thoughts??
  • Annie, I'd go for the £25, maybe other people will want this book that haven't put in a preorder, I'd be happy sitting on it and waiting TBH.
Don't forget that sometimes rival booksellers will put in preorders so that they can buy it cheap to sell higher either back on Amazon or elsewhere
  • Hi all

I'm a newbie to this board. I have been selling books on Amazon for a while now - not in great quantities I must admit! Please can I have a membership number?

  • Hey I've just reached 100 feedback on my Amazon account!!!!!

The majority I've had have been 5's with the odd 4 thrown in as some folks just can't give top marks no matter what!!

I know that Amazon feedback isn't quite as important as on Ebay but I am rather chuffed.

AT - thanks for the info regarding the multiple purchase and the postage - I refunded £1 and had a very nice email back saying thank you. The guy bought 6 books in all (only 2 from me) which cost him 50p and £16.50 in postage charges!!! He was happy with the total cost however, but it just goes to show how unfriendly the Marketplace can be when it comes to multiple purchases - I don't think there is much that can be done though, but buyers don't often appreciate that we are all trading independently.

Need one more sale to hit my target (30) - come on you buyers!

Good luck everyone else - you never know you might get a huge rush during the first week of dec - I still have presents to buy from the marketplace, just so busy.
