Well done reverie, you'll be hooked like the rest of us now.

This is an entire MSE cottage industry , I wonder how many books we have between us all?

A shame as they are a bit expensive, I'll stick with my Viking jiffy lite bags for now.

    Thanks for the link though

  • There's a lot of happy people here today :T :T it really warms the cockles to hear lots of good stories.

Cardboard book mailers - didn't anyone ever watch Blue Peter???? I'm sure that one could fashion a simlliar thing of a supermarket box  if only we had the time...

I'm currently waiting for a pending to go through it's for £20 book so fingers crossed, I hope he sticks with it - the next priced up after mine was £155 so he can't really go to another seller for it..

    ..

I am so clumsy I couldn't even make a supermarket box out of a supermarket box:eek: Although I do recall that I have some Ikea mailing boxes lurking in a back of a cupboard somewhere, I remember buying them years ago because they had been reduced to 10p a packet or somehting and I never throw anything away...off to search.

Good luck with your sale AT, my last few pendings have all converted to sales..so fingers crossed for you.

I've just sold another, I honestly think that someone is winding me up and buying all my books for a bet..I have honestly never sold this many before.

  • Personally I would go for the foam, it should protect it just fine, I use that thin foam too and never had a problem. Also I would risk it if it is on the brink because I always do, I do my own online postage and I am very generous with myself and have never had to pay extra postage, and I know my customers would have said something if they had to pay the surcharge, I think they give more leeway then people think.

However, that is just my opinion, I would be of the risky sort.

Hi Bella, I use 2 or 3 layers of foam with plastic mailers or if it's too large I use thick plastic from boutique carrier bags, I haven't heard from buyers that there has been any problems.
Will the book actually go in a post box? my local post box is a silly little one on a pole...
I haven't seen any posts about buyers having problems with underpriced parcels so maybe there is an amnesty?

Thanks very much - I used the foam, think it made it slightly less wide, so felt happier using large letter postage rate. Thought finding a postbox to fit it in would be easy - but I had to try 3... now I know where the "big" postbox is!!

Perhaps I also need to have a big whinge to get my sales going...

Many thanks to all here for their stories - and the help posts. :T
