Only 10 to go before I reach my target! :j Altho I am certain that Soo or FFM will meet their targets first - well done!

I still have more items to list - just wish I could find the time - maybe friday.

That's interesting about the switch theory, I wish sometimes that amazon could have ways of knowing how many people look at your items and stuff like ebay has because it is impossible to know if your books are even looked at, especially with amazon errors.

I sold my first book, I sold my first book!!!

and I am incredibly pleased because (she says, coughing slightly) it was a rather fine art book for £60!

But - I didn't get any kind of confirmation email from Amazon and it was only when I was casually checking my listings today that I thought - hmm, I thought I had one more book than that, and it was sold over a week ago. So I have rapidly fired off a grovelling apologetic message to the buyer and will despatch tomorrow. How come Amazon don't tell you that you've sold something? I'm a bit annoyed... anyone else have this problem?
  • I've just sold my first book on Amazon too - The Lost Houses of Wales ISBN 0905978277 for £50 to a waiting buyer!

If you see this one grab it, as there are more waiting although at lower prices now. What was interesting was that the "waiting" prices went higher as the condition they were prepared to accept got lower

Many thanks to everyone here for the helpful advice - I couldn't have got started without you!

PS - Vicky, I opted to post mine Special Delivery as per at's advice so I'm covered if it goes missing - doing this at your cost might placate your buyer as they'd get it by Thursday

Just had another strange co incidence...

I listed a book yesterday, around the same price as the others, but no cheaper. I just got an email from a potential buyer asking about the condition of the book as he wanted it for a gift, we exchanged a couple of emails then he emailed again to say that his purchase hasn't gone through and when he went back to try and rebuy my book does not show.

I checked my open listings and it isn't there, but a quick look on my sold items shows it sold at virtually the exact same time I was emailing this other guy.

how weird...two buyers wanting the exact same book as exactly the same time.

    Soo

EDIT: I should update my challenge totals to say that makes book number 29 against my target of 30.

    Hi Soo

Looks like we're both really close, I'm at book number 99 against my target of 100.

I wonder who the beers will be on?

    FFM :)

  • HEY! YOU TWO - SOO & FFM- STOP GLOATING - some of us aren't anywhere near our targets yet.

In my defence I used august as the month to beat and as I remember it was a very good month because I just listed a load of kids vids and they were snapped up for the holidays so maybe that was an extraodinary month and not to be used as a yardstick. Looking at the money side, I'm not far off what I'd expect to have in my kitty so I'm not complaining really

That is a VERY, VERY good start for you both - the trouble is, can it be replicated, will it all go downhill from now on?:rotfl:

It's bad news over the email though, Vicky, did you check your junk mail in case it got sent there?
