    Thanks for that.

I can now understand what kind of motorist you really must be then. :p

It has everything to do with Road Rage - what is Road Rage if it isn't 'lashing out' (as you put it) in frustration at other drivers?

And your post was seemingly justifying this by saying slower motorists are causing 'passive aggression' in other motorists.

'Lashing out' at other drivers isn't 'basic human psychology' - its people who cannot control their emotions and allow themselves to be unnecessarily wound up.

Same people probably can't drive over speed bumps properly either!

Boy do you have a problem Johnson, I'm not even sure who you are trying to focus your spite on????

Take control, speed bumps were designed for people with your mentallity
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Sorry, No problem here - I thought it was clear who that particular post was aimed at - he had started name calling in an earlier post.

EDIT: Just noticed the offending post(s) have been removed.

If no one has hit you, they obviously can drive at that speed. If you are worried, you don't need to use the road. Just don't needlessly slow down the rest of us.

Only through the luck of timing that we happened to meet somewhere other than the apex of the corner. Also one event where I just happened to catch a glimpse of the spinning vent thing on top of the van above the hedge as I was coming down hill towards a blind corner. Stopped before he had even come around the corner and this idiot still came barrelling around and had to haul on the anchors to avoid driving into me (stopped at under half a car length)

I don't drive slow on these roads, there are a few sections where 60 can be achieved, but I know which corners have the visibility issues and treat them accordingly.

I use the road because even with all this crap, it provides much more reliable journey times than going down the the motorway roundabout and up two junctions to get to work. That route isn't short of idiots either.

So, like I said, at the end of the day, it's proven safe, and just your opinion that others should slow down?
Surely that's the exact arguement that's been used on here to justify removing the speed humps. Speed doesn't kill, it's just the do-gooders that want to slow people down, and it is possible to avoid people doing the limit if you're careful?
  • You have no idea how many times i come up the road to see kids (between 2-8) playing on bikes, walking on the road etc and they look at me as if i'm stupid!

    Thats because you are. :p

If you know kids are having the temerity to play in the streets (little swines!) then slow down and drive over the speed bumps gently - is this concept really that f*@*@*g difficult????

I was driving to meet a friend in Rubery a few years ago (at night), I rounded a corner on a 40mph road only to find a huge unmarked speed bump. I couldn't brake as hard as I needed to because in a corner it'd cause the car to spin out....

So if you found a child/pet/other obstacle in the road instead of a speed bump, you would not have been able to slow down or avoid it safely?

    More fool you I'm affraid.

If the limit is 30mph, then 30mph is the safe maximum speed....

    You're scaring me!

Do you engage brain befoire you engage 5th gear on the 30 zone?

Within a few days, a woman cyclist rode out of the fire station, turned left and struck the hump at an angle. She lost her balance and was killed by a motor vehicle...

Maybe you should write a scientific paper on that?

Presented to the BMJ: "Speed bumps kill, a statistically robust analysis of one anecdotal incident from 30 odd years ago"

    Nobel prize anyone?

Put simply, crashing into people/things kills the speed only affects the severity. So if you introduce speed control measures that cause a distraction, e.g. drivers looking out for cameras or concentrating on accurate positioning for minimal back pain as they approach a speed bump then you get more crashes.

That old nutshell, drivers with severe lower back pain killing kids... well known issue, errm, in your head

Someone doing 40 and paying attention is much less dangerous than someone doing 30 and not paying attention....

Hurahh! We agree. Hang on, doesn't that mean that someone doing 30 paying attention is safer than someone doing 40 paying attention because that extra 30% extra speed adds 100% more kinetic energy??? (The answer's yes)

And going from 20 mph to 40 mph (100% increase) increases your kinetic energy by 400% - speed does kill becasue the ability to do damage is governed by the energy involved. (And the idiot doing 40)

Consider also that lower speed limits everywhere = longer drives = more people driving whilst tired, something which is more dangerous than driving drunk!

Well known and researched scientific fact that (joke) :T
