Yay - SOTW - a wonderful achievement. The other wonderful achievement is that I am wearing size 16 trousers today (and they are not uncomfortable) although they are the only size 16s in my wardrobe which fit to date! I started my journey in June wearing size 22 trousers which i have since sold on ebay. Am I the only one with size 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22 trousers in my wardrobe ??? Roll on the 14s - I have loads of them and I don't want to invest in any 16/18s as hopefully woulnd't need them for too long...0

i feel like ive eaten four whales ;-)
Ah, I see what you did there ^^^
Puds, y'know it was all a bit of a heating frenzy of merriment, that I can't recall the sequence of events. I didn't even need the electric blanket last night, and having hot water available all the time is going to be great, because my youngest uses all the hot water in his baths usually.... he never did get round to having his celebratory bath, which he'd said he was going to have to mark the occasion of having heating & hot water again.
Fred, thanks for the chart, and I'll continue with my tandem weigh-ins I think (so SW one for me on a Monday, but my home one for here on a Weds). Well done to you for your loss this week also.
Today is the 1st day we've not had fresh snow in 2 weeks, the sky is blue, and despite being -2C I have great hopes for a thaw this w/end. Any chance of things improving for you up there Beanie?
OH has told me I'm being taken out for my b/day next Weds, so glad to get the weigh in done early that day! I'm going to still be choosing the more healthy options, because I've made a deal with myself (in my head) that I am not going to indulge to any extend prior to Christmas Eve. Traditionally we have a Chinese takeaway that night with all the family here, then on Christmas Day the children usually ask for pizza, OH and I have leftover Chinese, and then I do our traditional Christmas Dinner on Boxing Day, so that we all get to enjoy Christmas day together, relaxing and having fun. It works for us anyway. I have my SW weigh in the day after Boxing Day (eek!). The consultant at the meeting said this week she's known members to gain over a stone in the week between Christmas and New Year!!! I definitely don't plan on doing that, and don't want to undermine my hard efforts so far, so it'll have to be measured, but enjoyable.
How does everyone else deal with the indulgence at Christmas? Do you just go for it, and deal with the consequences in the new year, no matter how big, or do you try to keep yourself in check? In previous years I've just pretty much had whatever I've wanted, but wanting to be more :A this year. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Congratulations Efrieze! I have a wardrobe of 18/16/14. I have a very good friend who has suitcases and wardrobes full of clothes ranging in sizes from 22/20/18/16/14, and I think she even had some 12's too. She's currently a 20, or squeezing into a generous 18.
This week I've also managed to get into one of my smaller pairs of 16's, although I've got several pairs of 14's that I'm determined to get into in the new year. I'm about another stone away from getting into those though. I've never been able to buy anything smaller than a 14, so my wish for next year is that I will eventually be able to wear something in a size 12. It would genuinely be a 1st in my life, and as I'm sinking further and futher into middle-age, I'd better get a shift on before it's too late to do it!
It must have felt great to finally get in them again, and here's to the 14's being in sight very soon. Well done! One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Usually I dont cope well, I eat far too much then sort of 'forget' to stop and carry on gaining weight till easter
this year I'm going to try to restrain myself, have one or two treats from xmas eve till the 27th, then get back into SW straight away. I am going to write my 'goals' in my diary on that day, so i can't 'forget'Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
Why Put Off Until Tomorrow What You Can Do Today? :A0 -

I am going to be pretty controlled about it, after all this time anything sweet just makes me barf chunks, i will probably give myself 1000 extra cals on christmas day and stick to 1800-2000 a day the rest of the time
90% of the crimbo food i dont want any more tbh, ill go for some nuts, cheese and bread free sausage meat0 -
sary I allow myself a slot of days last year it was 5 days the year before was 10 days so I cut it in half because a) it was ridiculous to eat that much for that long and b) the well documented misery following in the new year to shift the xmas weight was too much for me to bare so I cut it down to 5 days, def xmas eve day and boxing day then go back to it and then NYE and NYD 5 days the others are treated as normal not indulgent day with plenty of walks if the weather is not too bad and not much sitting around:D
I have practically begged my lot to do xmas day roast on xmas eve so we can spend it all together without the kitchen fuss but they come to my way of thinking and every year at the last moment they change their minds and say no it is not the same, keep it as it is, xmas day dinner for xmas day, so xmas eve is a buffet, day is the roast and boxing day is the buffet/left overs sandwiches not cooking type of day, with loads of naughty bits added:rotfl::D0 -

I t was said on the tele this morning that a xmas day meal and add ons can be 7,500 calories:eek: they reckon the average person consumes that and some up to 10,000 in the course of the day:eek:0 -

I did 10,000 cals last yearon top of a giant crimbo dinner I ate a whole box of Terry's Chocolate Orange Segsations 300g, a large packet of kettle crisps, a tub of honey roasted cashews and a whole M&S profiterole stack that nobody else wanted as they where too full (30@ 80cals each.. 2400 cals)
It would be impossible for me to do this now, I just could not eat that much and I can not tolerate anything sweet ...
Its better to stick to healthy foods loaded with fat than those nasty sugars anyway0 -

Crikey!!
I guess if you drink alcohol, the calories could add up without you even realising it. Fortunately I don't, so I won't have the wine with my meal, or liqueurs, or even brandy cream/butter.
I've asked the family what they would really like to have to eat and indulge in this Christmas, so that I can plan for what will actually get eaten, and to not have lots left over. I really struggle with throwing food away that is perfectly edible, especially if it can't be frozen to store for another time, so I don't want excess being in the house. OH has requested a trifle, which I can actually make very low fat and low sugar, with lots of lovely fruit, so that's not going to be too bad. The children just want pizza and chocolate, which I can easily resist, and I've made a Christmas Cake and Christmas pud, which will keep well. We have my friend & goddaughter visiting, and I'll make a low fat raspberry cheesecake for when they come, as she loved it so much last year when I made it. Apart from that, I don't think we're going to have too much around. I'm going to be making homemade gifts next week which will be things like truffles, fudge, shortbread, etc., so being surrounded by sickly stuff like that puts me off eating anyway, thank goodness!
I've not planned ahead how I'm going to tackle Christmas food before, but I hope that doing so this year will help as part of my re-training around food. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
