  • Can I join your thread please... I have been popping on MSE more frequently and grabbing some grabbit bargains and even posting some and I fell across this thread.... I SOO need to lose weight again but cannot get motivated... everytime I walk past the biscuit tin it screams my name I seem to be hungry all the time but not for the right stuff... have started running again and am now on week 6 of the couch to 5k - and I now need to kick my butt into action on the diet side... I have previously done SW after DD3 and had lost lots of weight - but as soon as started eating 'normal' again its crept back on - last summer I did Rosemary and did alot of running and the weight fell off - then I stopped running and it is slowly creeping back on again.... :( I cant go to a class so I have to do it on my own... what diets have people had the best loss on? and then maintained? not sure which way to go... but I know I have to do something...

    welcome

ThAnyway, my suggestion is either to give yourself a break, and make a decision after Christmas, or decide on a short-term goal of Christmas as the timeframe to lose 4lb or something like that. Keep a food diary, do not buy anything that will undermine your efforts in the weekly shop, and plan your meals ahead.

    HTH.

That's my plan - I have ordered a tesco shop with zero fat yogs, fruit and veg, and no red meat or butter, cheese etc. I am also cutting out bread as much as possible - maximum one wholewheat slice per day.
I've also given up chocolate until xmas - it's my biggest downfall and I want to be able to enjoy some choc at xmas and feel like i deserve it rather than feel guilty

Forgot to weigh in as had to take DS to airport at crack of dawn.

Have you managed to find a foreign buyer for him at last beanie?:D

    Sounds a good plan Betty.

Love the pie chart puds:rotfl:. Don't know how to help you with motivation though. but you have done so well so far:T

thanks for the chart fred and well done flis for sotw:T

can'tbeatabargain - big welcome. I'm an SW fan, as I think it is something you can do long term as a new way of eating rather than 'a diet'. I think changing habits for life, whatever plan or method you choose is the only way to keep it off really.

alliwant - a sts the same is no bad thing given how well you have done. The body doesn't always lose week in week out. Sometimes you need to look at loss in a month to see the bigger picture.

Victory - sorry you have been ill and work stresses continue:(
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Yes I agree Puds that chart really made me laugh!

I have just checked my calorie intake for the day, as I stopped doing it long ago and took up SW - I no longer have much clue how many cals I consume on an average day!

    Today I've had the folowing:
1 banana and tsp honey on 1 brown toast
a cup of tea with semi-skim milk (run out of skim/rice milk)
homemade parsnip soup with toms and carrot and a bit of creme fraiche
1 big crusty white roll with a smidge of lurpack lighter
    1 ginger nut biscuit
    8 roasted, unsalted peanuts
2 pints of water, 2 cups of peppermint tea
    small bowl of pasta spirals
    3 tsp pesto
1 big glass of red wine (having that in front of the TV later!)

    According to foodfocus.co.uk it's about 1300 cals - and I usually over-estimate portions on that site if there's anything I haven't weighed

But that doesn't seem much for a day I deem to be a 'bad' day - butter, wine, white bread....

I guess my thinking must be a bit wonky, I would have beaten myself up for a day like that normally, but seeing as it's only 1300 that's a good day! Crazy.

Went in today for 4 hour shift and do you know my boss never even acknowledged me? Never even so much as said good afternoon? Very poor show, we had a major crisis, prescription missing and lady accused me (was not) boss would not come out to listen/help/calm, did eventually when the woman went absolutely ballistic and then after it got all sorted I went to him and said what I knew and he tried to make a joke of it not being me (for once), always falls flat though.

My self confidence is sub zero, do you know not one of the work colleagues after being off for a week with flu, not one of them asked me how I was etc, not one, the atmosphere is so cold it is freezing over in there:rotfl::rotfl:

I actually felt sick going into work today thinking of what I could do wrong what I will do wrong what I will be told off for, did none of those things all good but hardly a great way to toddle off to work in?:D
