well done on your loss and your 1 stone total loss sary :T:T
SW seems to be really suiting you - you are very inspiring for me - whenever i feel like giving up I think of you and your success so far...

Awww, what a lovely, kind thing to say Betty. That's given me a nice warm fuzzy feeling (or did I just pee myself?). It's taken me a little while to learn to trust SW, but I now know that if I stick to it 100%, the weight will come off every week. It's been a revelation.:T

    Food for today

B- 28g shreddies with banana slices and frozen berries skimmed milk
Nothing until L- turkey sub on wheat no sauces just all the salad stuff

Came home had some turkey and gammon slices from the fridge

D- SW red thai curry which was absolutely delicious it is on the website and it is the loveliest meal:D What did you have with the curry? Rice & veggies would be the recommended.

Dropped the snack a jacks and crackers like you say sary ;) I am giving it everything I have this week on Sw and hope for a loss.
Good idea, even if it's only for a week or 2 to begin with, it will hopefully give you the loss I know you want. I lost 6.5lb in my 1st week!

Tomorrow it is going to be
B-28g porridge with skimmed milk and frozen berries
L- baked beans, 1 slice of bread and maybe eggs You need to have veg/fruit with this to be on Extra Easy. Remember equivalent of 1/3 of your plate, even if it's a fruit salad afterwards, or a couple or so pieces of fruit
D-Mediterranean cod again lovely it was this time with frozen tuna and SW frylight chips... are you having veg/salad with this? Mushy peas, if you like them, are a superfree food, otherwise any other veg will do that's superfree like green beans, broccoli, etc.

Friday it is going to be
B- 28g cereal and fruit and skimmed milk
    L- soup minestrone SW
D-pork chow mein SW with lots of veg?

If I need it a snack it is sugar free jelly with fromage frais fruit and especially my fav at the moment melon Munch on as much melon as you want, it's a superspeed food, so really helps with loss.

I have a problem with passata and natural fat free yog, the sugars are 8.2 and 9.8 respectively and that is the least I could get in sugars from morrisons and Sainsburys, I know I am not using the whole pot etc but for a diabetic the sugar content is high has to be 6 or less or should be, I would expect the sugars that high for a ready meal or some choc etc not passata which is a godsend in SW cooking, the yog was a surprise too, anyone had or know of those 2 that are less in sugars from sone other supermarket?
Chopped tomatoes are much less sugar, could you use them instead, and just thicken the juice with a bit of cornflour, and add seasoning for depth of flavour, and if you can use it, even a small amount of tomato puree (which I know has high sugars, but you use much less).

I can't find a natural yogurt with low enough sugars, apart from Total 0% greek yogurt, which doesn't give any sugar content in the nutrition values. Could that be an option?
Activia natural yogurts (individual 4 pack) are 5.1% sugar per 100g, which is about the lowest I can find. On website here: http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/groceries/index.jsp
Do you have a diabetic resource at your clinic, or online to find out a good brand to use?

I bought sesame seeds and made prawn toast SW website, yuck:rotfl::rotfl: I hve bought the lime leaves and lemon grass for the next curry, I used last time fromage frais or greek fat free yog because I just did not have the natural yog worked fine maybe go back to that?

I bought a load of store cupboard stuff like lime juice, lemon juice, dark soy sauce, tikka paste, red thai paste, green thai paste all that stuff, I went through a whole load of SW recipes online and in the book I got and noted down all the stuff I needed to make the recepies in the future now have it all.
That is exactly what I did, and I still stock up on extra seasoning/herbs as I go along now, to add to my weaponry. If the food tastes wonderful, it's enjoyable, and nothing like a diet.

The medium sharwoods noodles were half price in morrisons bargain.
SW members recommend having 'emergency' snacks, quick meals in the cupboard for back-up, and lots eat the Batchelors Pasta & Sauce (3g sugar in the chicken & mushroom), or Mug Shots. I'm not a great lover of pre-packed foods, but admit that even I like the taste of these, and they're a godsend for a quick lunch without thinking, followed by a couple of pieces of fruit & a muller light

Anyone know where the cheapest SW recipe books are went to WHsmith and the had one and only one priced at £15.99:eek:

There are quite a few on Amazon to choose from: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_1_14?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=slimming+world&sprefix=slimming+world

bb did not want to be put on meds really anyway but he seemed to think it would clear up but getting more air in my lungs:rotfl::D

See how you go, and get the exercise and fresh air as much as you can. If you don't feel any better, then go back. The meds are only there to help re-balance the chemicals, not a sign of weakness or any other such rubbish. If you had a headache, you'd take a paracetamol, if the kids had the squits, you'd give them some upset tummy medicine, etc. It's the same thing, and suffering with it isn't the way to get better, if anything, it'll probably get worse, so take good care of yourself.

Had a WW curry for tea as so tired.
    Not very much in it.
Will need to bulk it out next time with lots of veg.

Victory~Doesent look very much to me.
    Thats why Im fat.

Beanie can you get some of the microwave veg pouches to make it super easy for you? Sorry you aren't feeling very good right now. You do seem to have to battle along so often.

Well today has simply flown by. OH is very impressed that I've fixed his laptop (again!). In fact he said I was 'bloody great!' It was a very nasty trojan that had got into his system files, and it was even shutting down all the anti-malware programs, but there's more than one way to skin a cat, and I got the bleeder anyway.:T

I had the entire gym to myself this afternoon, which was incredible at this time of year. I think I chose the schoolrun time, and the time before the lads get in there too. It was very nice, and I could grunt and grimmace without worrying that anyone was watching. I did 2 leg exercises (calf raises using weights, going up/down on a step edge), and then stepping up/down on a bench, about 18 inches high. OMG my bum aches now. I'll be able to crack walnuts between these bum cheeks by the end of the year... I'll make it my Christmas party trick!:rotfl:

Right, off to go have my dark choc fibre bar now, and maybe even another little snack too, as I've used hardly any syns today.:T

Well done on the losses guys, commiserations to those not happy with their result this week, but keep at it, and the benefits will catch up with you next week instead!
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

same for me - usually only takes about 2 weeks to get over craving choc and after that i just dont miss it.

Finished the chocolate tonight - I was really low on calories and I know this wasn't the best thing to do, but it's gone now

And I'm not buying anymore till I reach my target weight, and by then I'm hoping I won't want it anymore

Medium sharwoods noodles with the curry for carbs and insulin.

There were lots of veg in the actual curry.

After the beans and eggs will be sugar free jelly and frozen fruit or melon or banana so yes fruit after it with fromage frais.

I am having veg in the actual cod sauce and peas as an accompament and SW chips with it for carbs/insulin with fry light and boiled for a few mins first.

Pork chow mein has masses of veg in it and will be with noodles for the carbs as pork is protein and veg is veg so it needs to balance it for diabetes with the carbs.

Would love to munch on as much melon as I liked but it has natural sugars and so cannot do it as much as I would like diabetic wise, like grapes, nurse always says just a handful, 6/8 grapes:rotfl:

I bought passata because SW told me to but I will use toms because I feel better about the sugars, have loads of them it is just bought it because of the recipes that call for it and yes I know I am not using the whole jar but every sugar adds up and as it is my insulin is going up and yet still cannot monitor the numbers correctly it was 25.4 for lunch and 16.9 just a mo ago:eek:

I tried everywhere to get the block coconut but could not find it,where do you get it from?

I buy patak's creamed coconut sachets from Mr T. http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/tesco-price-comparison/Marinades_And_Sauces/Pataks_Creamed_Coconut_4x50g.html
It's usually in the aisle with the jars of stir fry and curry sauces.
there's also a jamaican brand one that is just a big block, 200g i think. It's usually in the 'world food' section or something equally offensive (cos England's not part of the world according to the supermarket?!?!)

they are MUCH cheaper than a tin of coconut milk, last a long long time and are v easy to use.
I just tend to throw a bit into whatever I am cooking and let it melt thru - or melt it in a bit of hot water or hot milk then add it to the pan

    1 sachet is 50g
28g of creamed coconut is 9.5 syns

so my calculation is 25g (half a sachet) is 8.5 syns
    (9.5 syns divided by 28g = 0.3392 syns per gram, then times 25g = 8.482 syns! have I mentioned that i'm a NERD!)

I use 1/2 a sachet for a meal for the two of us (just saw the sachet in half with a sharp knife and keep the other half for next time) so for my meal it comes to 4.25 syns.

Not too bad then! i love coconut and a curry just aint a curry without it in my opinion!!

Lolly: Youre post made me laugh!!! So busy shopping you forget to eat and pretty much do anything!! ha, i love it. You have also made me miss shopping, i havent been in awhile and as much as i want to, my head tells me noooooooooo.

Lol, it was great! Must be the only thing that stops me thinking about food!!!

I keep telling myself that I'm not buying any more clothes until I've dropped a dress size... I think that staying out of the shops is going to be just as much of a challenge as losing the weight!

Well, I promised myself that I'd post my exercise efforts tonight, so here goes... I did nothing. :embarasse
I must try harder! I've kind of lost track a bit lately as I seem to have no energy, or motivation. I think the fact that I'm 'between diets' doesn't help - I'm still counting the calories (mostly!), but getting ready to start a low carb diet. I had planned to start at the beginning of feb, but think I may bring that forward and start in the next few days in the hope that it will give me a bit of a kick start back into dieting.

Right I'm off to bed as I've got a long day tomorrow. Nite, Everyone!

    Here's this weeks chart:

    19Jan2011.jpg

    Congrats to our SoTW Safesound.

Well done to all our losers - there were some great losses this week - and our STSers.

Commisserations to our gainers - start again tomorrow and put one foot infront of the other.

    19Jan2011NvS.jpg

Congrats to the Southern Stunners who have won this weeks round of the N v S competition - it's still very close though so the Buckfast Beauties could still win the months challenge.
