I admire your tenacity, but unfortunately you are on a hiding to nothing and this thread of parking ticket/invoice/notices/scams/enforcement and non-enforceable will continue until well after you retire, so I would step back and save yourself the blood pressure and abuse, I do understand your views, and at the end of the day you are a paid employee not part of the ownership of the firm, carrying out a thankless task and that will now start another thread as to why it should be carried out, but at least you are not the scum of the earth benefit scrounger sat on his !!!! waiting for the world to provide you with a living, just an unfortunate career choice, but a jobs a job ? sort of ; )

I think you're probably right. I've said all I have set out to say, and to be honest nothing changes, I will keep doing the job I'm paid to do (NOT solely issuing invoices!), and one I have performed legally for the passed 4-years or so. Thanks.

I noticed two invoices on two different cars today at a private car park.

Personally, when I next get some time free I am going to print some leaflets off afetr making some and place them on any cars I personally see invoiced and advise them the invoice cannot be enforced and can be ignored and direct them to this forum and other websites online to confirm such.

I will try my best to stop this extortion of money, even if it saves one or two people paying a worthless invoice, I'd have done some good and that is all I am trying to do!

    Watch this space guys :D

    Kwaks' post is commendable.

I have to disagree with final sentiment therein. Railways must be able to set byelaws.

I add that the fraudulent misrepresentation of 'byelaw' issues by private companies is the issue that needs addressing.
  • Hi everyone

If you can keep the thread on topic and try not to let things get personal that would be great. As you know, anyone can say anything on this forum and the Forum Team can't be called upon to read a thread and decide what is true and what isn't simply because someone's reported it. By all means report posts you feel may be abusive and they'll be looked at and action taken if they feel necessary but please don't ask the Forum Team to remove posts because they're "not true" as they can't do it.
    Thanks!
    Andrea :)

    Just an update

Today saw a invoice at a train station car park, and with one of my printed leaflets I left one under the persons wiper, hopefully one less invoice extortion of money gained - in all, I got so much joy in helping them, I am printing another 50 off this weekend and will carry them in my car and all invoices I see, I put one of these on them - hopefully, if enough of us do it (and I know of a few of you who do ;) ) it will put the private parking companies out of business :)

Don't forget the envelope with "it is an offence for anyone other than the driver to remove this notice" to stop the plastic attendant getting ideas of removing them :D

Oh yes, I am to have my leaflets protected under my own private law :rotfl:

I have directed the person to this forum in the leaflet so as well as preventing extortion of monies we should soon have some more new members :D
