  • ^^^ it wasnt about the legalities, you would have missed a motorcycle filtering just the same as you missed the car.
If it had been a motorbike filtering, I have a funny feeling your video would have hung you out to dry.

But come on, wheres the harm now it's done and dusted. Whats the blame ratio your insurers looking to accept.

    They're basically dragging their heels.
They are pursuing it as 3rd party fault, they wouldn't pursue it if they didn't believe they could win.

  • :rotfl:Can I ask why you drive around with a Camera set up in the car?....

Oh and after reading this I'd go 50/50 at the very very best..

:rotfl:Can I ask why you drive around with a Camera set up in the car?....

Because of how many idiots I encountered during the winter of 2009.
For example I witnessed (but wasn't actually involved in) 3 or more near accidents caused by people driving around with no lights on. Be that people pulling out of side roads only to find a white car with no lights coming out of the fog, or pedestrians crossing roads, or whatever....
For the sake of £20 for a camera, I think the benefits far outweigh the cost.

AND of course the recent uprising of gangs of a certain non-British minority who are going around causing accidents in order to make injury claims. ie reversing into car's!! (as seen on the BBC news and watchdog)

  • this whole thread is getting tiresome. OP why post and ask opinions of others if your going to take them personal. if you had no doubt in your mind that you werent at fault this thread would not be here, your doubted in your own mind as youve asked opinions of others. i am not one to beat around the bush and tell people what the want to hear, some are giving you curtesy of saying 50/50 being polite, i have been in accidents that werent my fault but found to be at fault by insurers, i was hit side on during the night the other car jumped a red light and had no lights on at 9pm on a winters night because i pulled out of a side road into collision insurers found me at fault eventhough i proved he run a red light and had no lights on (cctv from nearby pub), they said it was down to me as i pulled out into collision. this was years ago and yes i do check, check and check again.

    Yes I do...

I've done no such thing, a forum debate is all par for the course.....
I have and voice my opinions and I would hope you continue to do the same.
We all have different opinions and we all come here (I would hope) in search of knowledge and to assist others in the same quest.

I come here to use what I know in the hope that I can assist others, but it seems that whenever I start a thread I just get a load of abuse and unhelpfullness. Perhaps this is just the norm, perhaps it's different when your looking from the OP point of view (I think it probably is).

While there are names here which i've grown to realise just come here to brow beat others into their way of thinking and to (for want of a better word) exert their "alpha male" status on those who dare to think for themselves, I can't recall ever being drawn into a slanging match with yourself and I really don't care to go through all my old posts just to check.

This isn't about right or wrong, it's not even about the subject of the thread, this is simply about "epeen".

I don't really "kowtow" to anyone, I don't care how "alpha male" they think they are, and while that can cause friction in both online and offline debates, one thing will always stand true.... My opinions can be changed by fact and logic, but I will NEVER be bullied into anything.

Possibly you mean me for one, as I disagreed with you.
You don't appear to like opinions that disagree with you, and ironically you abuse those who do. Most posters on here have agreed you are at fault, so you pulled your video?
Maybe you need to improve your observation skills when frustrated as well, if you want to tell me to shut up, and call me a fool for "accusing" you of speeding over the zebra crossing, check who actually said it, and they didn't even mention speeding.
In the end all I've done is give my opinion on your video, which you asked for. You don't like it, fine.

To be fair to the first 'idiot' in the Rover, they were possibly just about commited to passing the parked cars on their side as you emerged around the corner with the zebra crossing on it? Could've slowed down a bit perhaps though.

As for the speed of the blue Modus, their stopping distance suggests a speed lower than 35/40 mph.

From that video I wouldn't have been able to figure out what the people carrier's intentions were. I wouldn't have assumed anyone behind me would have known what I was doing either before I made a move.

Why ask for 'opinions' when you get upset when you get exactly what you asked for?

I did mean the Rover could've slowed down a bit when it became clear they and the OP were going to have to squeeze by each other.

...this whole thread is is malformed it's a shame the OP doesn't realise it...they will be back and claim the ins. co. found in their favour I suspect!
