OP why are you indicating when approching the roundabout in the video where you took on the HGV yet didn't indicate to show the HGV you weren't turning right but were really going straight on.
Im actually glad you asked that.... well done for noticing
I do this at this section because if you don't then people know your overtaking and they either change lanes to block you OR they race across the island to stop you merging on the other side.
Not sure why people get so upset with people using the road as it was designed.
Also, I don't know if it's just this area, but people are extremely competitive on the roads around here.
I use the indicators on the approach to the island and then turn them off on the island itself.
I mean.... Why invite trouble when you can avoid it?
It's simply another variation on the "stealth overtake".If you fancy playing chicken with HGV's ensure you are in a position to win. Last person that did that to me at a roundabout in his new VW Passat is now sporting some go faster stripes (and I was in the Panda).
As much as anyone, I hate when people try to bully their way into a gap which was always too small, it simply shows they were not paying attention.
However if there was a suitable gap, then it is actually illegal to accelerate/undertake to "close the gap" and prevent someone merging, but not illegal if you were at no point behind them... Complex issue though!
If someone behind me rides my bumper to stop someone merging, I will slow and let the victim come past both them and myself. Id rather do that than see an innocent party wind up in a head on collision with the car next to me

Come on strider if you live bythe sword you need to expect to die by the sword. The HGV driver knew exactly what you were about to do and had managed to ensure his lorry was still ahead of you and then closed the gap. You didn't get the oportunity to fill the gap because he was still upsides with you. You started that manouevre from too far back and were too slow.0

No, im sorry.... He was behind me, by at the very least a cars length, but I felt at the time that cutting in before the merge would have been inconsiderate. I might expect his behaviour from car drivers, but I never EVER expected a professional driver to do the same, he brings shame to a very large number of excellent, respected and completely professional drivers.
I was truly shocked by his actions and i've never seen anything like this before

The reason that gap closed is because the van was breaking to get into gap, you clearly underestimated the vans braking by how close you got too it.
Overtaking trucks like that coming off a roundabouts where 2 lanes merge into one when there is clearly traffic ahead is suicidal especialy when the gaps is around 2 car lenghs that is too small a gap in moving/slowing traffic(only leaves 1/2 in front and behind).
You never got past the truck by more than a few feet if at all from that video.0 -

Van was not braking, his lights do not change intensity and at no point does his third (high level) brake light come on. Please try agian......“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I have lots of better things to do, but when they're done.........
I predict the first car to be seen driving only on it's w5w parking lights on a foggy morning will be a..... *drum roll" new shaped Nissan Micra!!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

But hey, this is what happens on the internet.... It's like a school playground.
You'll notice that in situations where other vehicles are not within a range to be affected by a manoeuvre, that indication is not necessary. As for the use of speed, I was within the limits.... I predicted he would do what he did, because so many people do this!
I "shot up" the outside, which is exactly where I should have been!!
You need to work out the differences between inside, outside, offside and nearside!
If you don't expect people to be overtaking legally on a dual carriageway, then you shouldn't be on the road!
Oh and there's no reason why I can't post registration numbers on Youtube. There are a lot of cyclists who do just this (as well as posting company names for commercial vehicles and buses), the legal aspect has been discussed to death.
I will keep filming and i'll keep posting, expect a sharp increase in video's this winter as I intend to shame those who think driving about with no lights in fog/snow/darkness is somehow acceptable....
"I "shot up" the outside" yeh you clear did didnt you! oh and to the vehicle you shot by was his offside wich inturn on the roundabout would be his inside, as he was in the left hand outer lane! it would be your nearside so there for would be your outside left. i am right in what i posted but you seemed to confuse yourself.
1. in that clip you moved to the second lane (without indication) as you knew traffic buildup would be on the roundabout not appraching cautiosly, to the guy who went accross the roundabout yes he did go accross instead of around in lane 1 but as you approached too quickly and acelerated harshly you put yourself in that situation where by if you had taken your time and give him room there wouldnt of been an issue except the he inconvienced traffic behind not to the side but you put yourself there by being hard on the gas pedal. you may stick to the limits but you do not take your time in getting to the limit, you accellerate hard all the time trying to get to it aggressive drive style!!
2. with the lorry clip after you over took it and the road filtered into single lane why were you so shocked to see him to your left.
we can see that from the clip you used the second lane to over take queing traffic on the roundabout and then cut back in were possible.
3. with the morris minor, going slow you got absolutly no where except for allmost directly behind it so what was the point of the overtake as you would of forced cars behind you to slow down on you breaking pulling in, again clearly showing you have no patience and curtesy to others.
to prove your shuch a good driver why not send all your video clips into your insurers!!! see what they make of them because everyone here is of the opinion your not a very good driver me one of them and im probably younger than you being 26 years old.0 -

That just doesn't make any sense whatsoever.atrixblue.-MFR-. wrote: »1. in that clip you moved to the second lane (without indication) as you knew traffic buildup would be on the roundabout not appraching cautiosly, to the guy who went accross the roundabout yes he did go accross instead of around in lane 1 but as you approached too quickly and acelerated harshly you put yourself in that situation where by if you had taken your time and give him room there wouldnt of been an issue except the he inconvienced traffic behind not to the side but you put yourself there by being hard on the gas pedal. you may stick to the limits but you do not take your time in getting to the limit, you accellerate hard all the time trying to get to it aggressive drive style!!
He took the racing line, cut the island and im the aggressive one?atrixblue.-MFR-. wrote: »2. with the lorry clip after you over took it and the road filtered into single lane why were you so shocked to see him to your left.

Yes I overtook on a dual carriageway, where's my crime again?atrixblue.-MFR-. wrote: »3. with the morris minor, going slow you got absolutly no where except for allmost directly behind it so what was the point of the overtake as you would of forced cars behind you to slow down on you breaking pulling in, again clearly showing you have no patience and curtesy to others.
I have no patience at all with slow drivers, too many live's are lost each year by people who are far less patient than I.atrixblue.-MFR-. wrote: »everyone here is of the opinion your not a very good driver me one of them and im probably younger than you being 26 years old.
I post some clips of people doing things which are completely illegal and im the criminal. Go figure....“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

No one has said you're a criminal.
I think the consensus was you're a very poor driver.
If you keep it up you may well be a criminal soon though. Time will tell.0
