AND of course you going to see her in the rear view mirror as she hits me car, your viewing from the passengers side and the flash is when she's next to my drivers door!

Oh, the car coming the other way.... He should have waited, if your side of the road is obstructed by parked cars you MUST give way.

Para 1.:- Exactly. Her car is alongside yours at the point at which you start to pull out. YOU haven't checked properly that the way is clear. All this guff about overtaking being at your risk is nonsense. The fact that her car could be seen through the mirror from the passengers view is even more damning for you. She would also have passed your wing mirror view by this point and you still hadn't spotted her, and you didn't look over your shoulder to check the way was clear; Unless the Diahatsu was doing 135 mph, and was equipped with F1 ceramic brakes to help it stop so quickly?

Para 2.:- I retract my point. You were right on that one and I was wrong. I know when I've got it wrong and I'm quite prepared to accept it.

The OP video has been deleted. From the descriptions on the thread, that I have read, I would say the accident was your fault, you are overtaking a car in front (which you say was queing but then why were you overtaking it) you did not check your mirrors/look over your shoulder and side swiped someone who was doing exactly the same as you.. Your fault by at least 80% rule 162

If this is how you drive all the time, I'm not surprised you have accidents. (I didn't see the original video) You criticize other drivers, but yet you overtake on cross-hatching? Very hypocritical. The guy in the focus didn't actually over take on them, so he did nothing wrong. You did, on the other hand.

    I quote:
if the area [chevrons] is bordered by a broken white line, you should not enter the area unless it is necessary and you can see that it is safe to do so

I advise you get your own driving in order before telling other people how to drive. Hence why people are probably telling you this accident was your fault.

This was the one which Strider used in a reply to me, when I casually mentioned that I had been driving thirty years without an accident (touch wood!)

    http://www.youtube.com/user/Strider9655#p/u/4/wlbzN2ATCVM

A queue of near stationary traffic approaching the roundabout, and our mate "Stirling" Strider is bombing down the outside lane too quickly.
Yes, the driver on the inside should have maintained a good line, but a bit of caution from Strider would not have gone amiss.

I wonder who's fault it would have been if someone in the queue had pulled out in front of you as you approached the roundabout?

ten quid says this one stops where it does so you don't see the subsequent road rage incident!

lol "wouldnt hurt to use your mirrors" nor would it you strider first we see you in this clip not indicate into second lane before roundabout plus you approach too quickly so you practically shot up his inside.
  • ive seen some stupid drivers but strider your gunna kill someone before long, your heavy footed, impatient, clearly a bad judge of stopping distances, and bully your way through traffic, not aware of your surroundings as such as your allways breaking hard and shocked to see something. oh and posting registration plates i'm sure thats against youtube rules! broadcasting rules apply there surely. if i was your insurer and seen these video's on your youtube account id class you as a dangerous liabilty with a 100% risk of total loss and a 100% risk of causing death by dangerous driving. KILL YOUR SPEED NOT A CHILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was Strider's reply to me in another thread, where I had simply said that it must have been luck that I had not had any accidents in thirty years.

"Not to p1ss on your bonfire or owt, but 30 years no accidents doesn't say !!!!!! for anyone's driving ability.

It's unfortunately that nonsense which arrogant, self righteous road warriors (vigilantes) spout when they head out looking for trouble, and start to take the law (their assumed 40 year old, chinese whispered version of the law) into their own hands.

Example1 - The Vigilante who needs to read section 130 of the highway code.

Example2 - Never had an accident, but I wonder how many this guy has actually caused! "

It seems to me that Strider is the only one acting like a vigilante, because I do not know of any other person who drives around with a camcorder going, just looking for "action".

This thread has become highly entertaining, one or two people shout "witch!" and the lynch mob descends. lol

But hey, this is what happens on the internet.... It's like a school playground.

lol "wouldnt hurt to use your mirrors" nor would it you strider first we see you in this clip not indicate into second lane before roundabout plus you approach too quickly so you practically shot up his inside.

You'll notice that in situations where other vehicles are not within a range to be affected by a manoeuvre, that indication is not necessary. As for the use of speed, I was within the limits.... I predicted he would do what he did, because so many people do this!

I "shot up" the outside, which is exactly where I should have been!!

You need to work out the differences between inside, outside, offside and nearside!

If you don't expect people to be overtaking legally on a dual carriageway, then you shouldn't be on the road!

Oh and there's no reason why I can't post registration numbers on Youtube. There are a lot of cyclists who do just this (as well as posting company names for commercial vehicles and buses), the legal aspect has been discussed to death.

I will keep filming and i'll keep posting, expect a sharp increase in video's this winter as I intend to shame those who think driving about with no lights in fog/snow/darkness is somehow acceptable....

    Burn the witch

Please find a group of drivers who you respect, Police persuit, police motorcycle, Institute of Advanced Motorists, ROSPA. And ask them to comment on your driving.

The one thing this thread has taught me never post video of your own driving!!

And just to stick the boot in too (sorry OP):-

OP why are you indicating when approching the roundabout in the video where you took on the HGV yet didn't indicate to show the HGV you weren't turning right but were really going straight on.

If you fancy playing chicken with HGV's ensure you are in a position to win. Last person that did that to me at a roundabout in his new VW Passat is now sporting some go faster stripes (and I was in the Panda).
