Opinions, accident video.....

I'm not sure the video really helps solve the issue anyway. The car in front definitely looks parked, straddling the line at the edge the road. We only have the OP's word for it that there is another car behind him - we can't see it, and the positioning of the camera makes it look like he is parked. I watched it with no sound, so I can't tell whether any indicator was used, and I also can't tell whether the OP checked his blind spot or not.
As someone else has pointed out, the overtaking car stops within a very short distance, so the estimated speed of 35-40mph looks a little high.
I can understand why the insurance don't consider the video as proof of the other driver's fault - if anything it does make it appear that the OP is more at fault.
The argument of 'I've only just set off so why would I stop?' is irrelevant - there are all sorts of reasons why a person might stop after such a short distance.
For the camera to be of value in this instance, it needs to be showing front and rear views, and it needs to be mounted from the driver's eye point of view. Positioned over the passenger seat, the view down the road is restricted and automatically provides a different perspective on what may be at fault.0 -
From the OP U-tube pagesAfter a number of close calls, near accidents and unprovoked road rage incidents
Accident waiting to happen comes to mind. you seem to attract far more incedents than the average and looking at the videos you can see some not so smart driving.
Hate to think what is on the material we don't get to see you do seem to be in a hurry to go plces all the time.

Got to love this one OP complains of a slow moving driver doing 35-38 in a claimed 50-60 zone(14s) then at 54 sec we go over a 40 sign.
bendy road with double whites followed by built up with pedestrians more 40 signs later on busy road loads of cars no one is going anywhere on this road.

Some appling driving in this one from the OP into a drain on the near side early on, and all over the cat eyes looking for overtaking opportunities which will need to be 3 cars worth to avoid causin one of the cars to pull back, woops there we go the first car has to drop back to let you in.

Overtaking a slow moving vehicle only for it to pull up behind at the next set of lights at red priceless waisted overtaking manouver.
I have to say that from the descriptions provided(link dead) of the video and the OP own account of this incedent the senario seems to be.
Stationary near the curb behind another car.
Decided to move out into the road to pass the vehicle in front.
Into the path of a vehicle passing on the offside that was not see.
What is not clear is why the OP did not see this vehicle,
We will have to gues they forgot to look.0 -

ten quid says this one stops where it does so you don't see the subsequent road rage incident!0 -

This is a new one.
Tries to get past fast enough to pass the white van in front, can't do it, faffs about, then expects the truck to let him back in. Obviously the truck driver has none of it, so the op has to pass him on the next island using the right turn only lane to prove the point. As to "sending the video to the police" I think I would get a few more opinions first.
There may way be a few bad drivers in the videos, but honestly, having been on the receiving end myself in this post as well, I'm really starting to think there is only one bad driver in all of them.
(I've bookmarked the youtube site now, I think it entertaining)0 -
TBH the OP is clearly a dangerous driver and those videos mostly show this - it worries me even more that he regularly drives on roads near to where I work

if i was in the lorry id do the same thing, plus with a 25 odd gear box, the lorry can hardly 'accelerate' to fill the gap like a car could anyway.
the car with the camera in is an idiot, no question.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000

Stider - Can you let us know your vehicles details so we can watch out for you

I'm sure you wouldn't mind, as you post details of other cars, including number plates on your videos.0
