I picked up a desire (not sure if it was the HD version) in 3 when I bought my PAYG Wildfire and wished I could afford it.
How would you tell the difference just be looking at them?"If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

Yes the Desire HD is a totally different phone easy to tell apart as it is bigger and squarer than the Desire. The Desire has physical buttons on the front at the bottom, the HD is electronic ones too.
However the Desire is up for replacement in April with a similar looking Desire S (old Desire was released a year ago) so I should get one in November when the contract is up with a bit of luck.0 -

Ah, yes. Until they're side by side, an amateur (like me) wouldn't know the difference.
I think it was the HD I saw in 3.
Would I be bitterly disappointed with the non HD model if I bought one? Facebook is about the extent of my online life with my phone."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

No. My girlfriend has the HD and I have the ordinary one. I can't really tell much of a difference and honestly I prefer the Desires size but that is just me!0
