I have been offered:
600 min
unlimited texts
500mb data
£35 per month, handset for free. he initially wanted £80!
I think I can do better than that surely?
have you looked at phones4u? I got a better deal than that for 25 a month, althouigh it was last month so not sure if they still have that offer.3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
Managed to get a decent deal on a Desire HD with T-Mobile being an existing customer for a good 4 years....
HTC Desire HD - Free
900 Minutes
Unlimited Texts
Unlimited Internet (3MB FUP)
Free P&P
£20/Month 24 Month Contract
Had their loyalty team ring me 3 times as I tried to get it cheaper each time, I even managed to get a credit to refund the £2.99 postage :rotfl:0 -
I like the sound of that deal Gazmondo. But I'm not with T-mobile so not sure they'd give it to a new customer.
My current best is:
Free HTC Desire HD phone
300 minutes calls
unlimited txts
500Mb data
Effective £18.56 per month on Orange Dolphin 25
(but made up of £25.54pm for 24 months, 4 months free by redemption, £65 cashback through Quidco. Total cost = 20x£25.54 - 65=£445.80, or £18.56 per month)
So works out cheaper overall than the T-mobile deal, but involves quidco cashback, and redemptions.
Probably still go for it though :-)
Cheers,

Got a retention deal through 3 of:
-Free phone
-2000 minutes
-5000 texts
-5000 3to3 minutes
-Unlimited intertnet
For £23 a month (24 months). I did have to buy out my existing contract for £80. But thought this was worth it for the deal.0 -
Hi,
My contract with Vodafone is nearly up and I am preparing for the usual fierce negotiations!
I currently pay £25/month for 600 mins and unlimited texts, on a 18 month contract with the first 6 half price.
I am looking to upgrade, on similar terms, to either HTC Desire or Desire HD and wondered what I should be looking for. I have been with Vodafone for over 5 years so usually get something good from the disconnections department.
Alternatively, does anyone have any good deals with other networks that I can use as a bargaining tool?
Any thoughts on whether the Desire HD is too big would be useful too - I'm undecided!
Many thanks in advance.:money:

Desire HD is bigger, but it has a few of pluses, newer gen Snapdragon and increased internal storage are the main ones, the new HTCSense.com software is another.
Possible downside for people is the lack of hardware cursor control, but with the bigger screen doing it with your finger isn't so bad.0 -
That hardware cursor control on my HTC Hero is a godsend as the touchscreen has become extremely unreliable. It is beginning to put me off the Desire because I can't stop thinking that this could be a common fault on HTC mobiles( I managed to find plenty of similar cases on google)Desire HD is bigger, but it has a few of pluses, newer gen Snapdragon and increased internal storage are the main ones, the new HTCSense.com software is another.

Newer HTC phones don't use the same screen as the Hero (the Clearpad 2000, unfortunately the Nexus One and Desire do though, not that I've read much about problems with it, just that it's cheap and nasty and fails at multi-touch :rotfl:), so it shouldn't be something you'll have to worry about.
Also HTC phones have a 2 year warranty, so even if something did go awry, you'd be covered.
Ps. Although not relevant right now, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) has much better on screen cursor control, so even smaller screens will be able to manage it with no troubles.0 -

about time too! Seen it running on a friends Nexus S and it is pretty good. Think the Desire HD will be one of the best Android phones kicking about for a while,0
