have fun trying to get the 2.2 update, with t mobiles direct, i did my t-mobile upgrade on that phone throygh a third party just to get the updates quicker as its a unbranded and unlcoked handset then ! t-mobile delay updates very long just go on there forum!

Thats rubbish the reason the 2.2 update has taken soo long on the Galaxy S is because samsung pulled the orignal release date.

Yes networks delay it so they can customise the device BUT the Samsung 2.2 has taken this long mostly down to them. Not T-Mobile
  • The Desire 2.2 took a while on tmobile aswell. I remember getting 2.2 on the desire way before those on tmobile.

Should get my Desire HD today, have to wait for the weekend though as im at uni to use it. First thing on the list is to root the thing.

t-mobile still havnt released 2.2 whilst unbranded unlocked galaxy s's got it last week, they havnt even got a definite release date for it! Furthermore when t-mobile released 2.2 for the desire it had to be pulled because it had german apps and rubbish on it! till yesterday, some people have yet to get 2.2 on there t-mobile branded desire!! http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/discussions/index?page=forums&topic=801038031e4048e012c07430c530075e1&filter=ALL

are there still any deals around on the Desire HD? I want to pay no more than £25 a month, need 300+ mins, unlimited texts and internet. I keep looking but have a small baby so never get around to properly looking so if anyone could help I'd be grateful. My other option is to get the san francisco and stick with 02 simplicity but I'd like a decent camera with the baby!

  • Hey guys what's the latest for new customers?

I've checked all around an the best I can find is

    Orange
    24mnth - 300min - unlimited texts - email & 500mb internet - £17.50 p/m plus £150 for handset
plus £80 cashback from orange meaning handset cost is £70.

Is that the best a newbie can do without messing around tryna claim cashback every few months?

Grab a HD2 for £200 off ebay (unlocked), hack it, stick Desire HD ROM on it.

    £27 - 350 min, 2000 3-3 minutes, 3000 texts, 3GB internet, 30 day contract with Three.

I did that (except I bought HD2 on release sim-only from an online retailer £500).

Contract phones are for saps, you pay ~1/3 more for the phone than you would otherwise buying phone outright and getting a 30 day contract.

Or those who can't afford a lump sum of £200+

No excuse, work hard and reap the rewards, otherwise you get a 3310 to remind you what being poor should feel like and act as an encouragement to work harder.

Plenty of people work as hard as they can and still can't afford to buy certain items with a single payment. For some people working 16 hours a week or less is as much as they can do. Others work long hours for low pay. Everyone's circumstances are different and you can't generalise. A 3310 would be luxury to some people. It's all relative.
