Hello everyone! We just got back from the park, on our way there a man with his wife in full hijab (face covered and everything) stopped us to say how Miss Molly is beautiful and reminds him of his daughter the same age who's at home in the UAE. Then he bent down to chat to Molly, patted her head and before I could react leaned over and kissed her forehead!!
Then he took a mobile phone picture of his wife with her and insisted on putting €10 in Molly's coat pocket. I am not sure what to think :rotfl:
Kitkat is she like that in front of your OH?
YES she is  but he doesnt say anything as apparently she's been like that most of his life... argh why couldn't I have reproduced with someone who had a lovely mum

afternoon all! grey old day here in south london - well it's outside, from the relatively bright inside I just did a sneaky post on the Pg Club :eek::eek::eek::eek:
Becles - your insomnia sounds just like my mum and before that my g'ma, they always complained about early hours waking. Mum says it's because she has stuff on her mind, usually going over the day's events and worrying about tomorrow, is that it? Logically talking things through with her sometimes helps.
Reading all this Christmas presents - OMG, really need to start sorting this out don't I?! Off to write a list. Or possibly watch rubbish telly until little man wakes from this snooze!0 -
Always does that mean what I think it does ?!

KitKat - all MILs are sent to try us. Doesn't matter how lovely they are, there will always be something.
Mine has rang me today. And I know she was trying to be nice, she was in Asda and going on about boxes of nappies 96 in a box for £11, is that good? So i asked what size, she didn't know!! What because it's not stated in the box? I said there should be a number 1,2,3,4,4+,5. She was adamant there was no number. So she just the said oh, ok and went. Now i know she'll be telling OH that she was trying to be helpful and i was off with her. But i wasn't, I just wanted to know the size !!!!!!.
Thing is I could do with some 4+, I have 2 boxes of size 5, bought way back two baby events ago, but they will be too big yet. How can she not see the number on the box? Duh!0 -
Ooooh, Congratulations Always! :j:T
I shall go and catch up now - that post just caught my eye!
Welll that didn't take very long! Approx. 10 posts since I was here at 10am?!? What's going on, is everyone having a real life?
Kitkat She sounds dreadful! What an awkward situation, you don't want to upset OH, but would also like to slap his mother around the face! Would OH not stand up to her? My MIL isn't too bad but has said something bad to me once, but OH fell out with her over it. She soon came back with apologies.
Rmac I share your Boots rage. I tried to order perfume for Sis this morning online, out of stock. So went to Boots in RL, also out of stock! (But on the plus side the shop assistant did tell me that a very nice ladies Hugo Boss one is perfume of the week from tomorrow, and half price).:beer:0 -

It's a problem isn't it? My ex's mother was truly despicable; I said I was only settling down with someone whose mother was dead. And that's exactly what I did, although even if she hadn't been I'd still have been ok with it
:eek:I do hope that isn't some kind of legal agreement in UAE :rotfl:
:eek::eek: quick Google says it's common among Muslim communities to kiss babies and I should just be grateful it wasn't on the mouth.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

how rubbish kitkat! I'm lucky in that MIL has only been to our house about 3 times (and no she doesn't live miles and miles away!) I would have to say something tho, I've had my fair share of arguments with MIL and there is one brewing right now.
the woman is a moron! She had Chris on Sat night and I met her at church to pick him up, I got Chris out of the car and she had strapped him in only with the lap part of the belt!  Its not hard to do, I got her the graco seat in the asda baby event, I showed her how to do it and quite frankly a monkey could do it! You'd think in her job she would understand the importance of strapping kids in properly but she doesn't seem to care - never listens to me, trying to explain something to her is impossible because she thinks she can work it out for herself when clearly she can't!!
whoops - rant much!0 -
congratulations always!
Kitkat - hugs and sympathy for rubbish MILs. I know where you are coming from......
SS - not sure what you'll have made of that, other than children are very much loved in the UAE. Even more so than Italy :rotfl:
Lo still asleep - yippeeee.
Sami - just so you know, phoned hilton group about tesco rates on their hotels - rather more steep than the ones advertised on the website
Macdonald hotels were much more akin to the pricing online, but still a few £s more.........!
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this responser.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!

Glad I am not the only one with the problem MIL, although *hugs* to those of you who have! She just angers me so much, she always goes on that I should stand my ground so I do with her and then apparently I'm in 'one of my moods'... !!!!!!??!?! My mum is so relaxed, she will say to me 'oh back in my day we did this but times change, and everyone has their own way of doing things', I even sometimes have to ask her how she did certain things so she can advise me as she doesn't like butting in. I love love to move miles away from MIL but I know that would make me further away from my lovely mum
and I know MIL would try blag free holidays if we lived anywhere near the coast.
The cheeky so and so even said 'so what time are we coming over on xmas day', I said to her ask OH as me and T won't be here LOL. Spending christmas with her.. I couldn't imagine anything worse...0
