Jillie, remember Amber had a tummy bug? Turned out to be something to with her liver and on Tuesday morning at 5am she started vomiting blood so took her to A&E where she was extremely poorly (almost lost her) and was transfered to Yorkhill sick kids hospital. I'd been giving her paracetamol which made thinsg a whole lot worse. At points tehy were talking about liver transplants. Lots of medicines later and we got home Saturday. She is back up for more tests on Friday and maybe we will find out what actually happened. But she should make a full recovery and we just have to hope it was a one off and not an underlying condition.

    How was your holiday?

Have you tried anything to help with the insomnia Becles?

    Just the usual stuff.

No TV, stereo etc., in the bedroom.
Comfy mattress, pillows, right tog duvet.
Window open as I can't sleep in a stuffy room.
    Black out linings on curtains.
No coffee or food after 6pm.
    No alcohol or other stimulants.
    No liquids after 9.30pm.
Quiet reading before I go to sleep to help me nod off.
    Lavender sprayed on pillow.

Busy during the day so I'm ready for bed by 11pm and I drop off easily. I get plenty of fresh air as work involves walking outside between jobs, I walk to and from school and walking the dogs.

Then I wake early hours of the morning for no apparent reason and just can't get back to sleep again for hours. If I lay in bed I just end up getting wound up because I can't drop off, so I usually get up and watch crap on the TV.

Have tried various prescription drugs and herbal tablets but their either don't work or they give me a fuzzy hungover effect that I don't like.

No idea what causes it but I've had it for years now.

Pleased you had a good holiday Jillie xx

Thanks for all the present suggestions. I'll have a look at them and talk to hubby as they're his grandparents.

It's Charlotte's first parents night at school this evening. Looking forward to hearing about what she has been up to.
Here I go again on my own....

fPresent ideasa: for the 80-something grandparents I wondered about making them a DVD movie hamper. With some of their favourite sweeties, crisps, a couple of suitable DVD's (B&W classics?), popsorn if they like that, perhaps a fleece and a pair of slippers each (depending on your budget).

LO only just gone to sleep. She was up at 5.30am - yuck. So we were in John Lewis as they opened, having driven DH to work (a treat for him!), tidied the house and put washing on! Then we started a bit of a mammoth trawl for presents for people. Boots didn't hve what I wanted in store - but don't have it online either - grrrrr silly 342. Tried toys'r'us (I hate that shop) but they didn't have something suitable for everyone so back to square one. *sigh*

This afternoon having a splashing in puddles walk with friends. We've had rain, large hail stones and snow here already today. It's soooooooo cold.

    Hi all,

not been on for a few days so having trouble catching up!

    Lovely pic Cafc!

Tia: So glad to hear Amber is out of hospital.

ARGHH :mad::mad: MIL's... I !!!!!!! hate them!!! She came over last night, uninvited, I had literally just got in myself after being at my mums again, and picking up T's milk, popping into work and shopping. T started screaming as soon as he saw her (happens every time strangely enough...) so I was trying to calm him, then she goes on 'dont fuss him he'll only think he is getting his own way', then i started feeding him as he was due a feed and she then goes on about how I shouldnt let him decide his feed times, he should go by me (he was due a feed anyway!)then she kept going on about how small our house is (we can barely afford the rent on this one!), how T is spoilt, how we waste too much money on stuff for T (I then told her that I had used vouchers to get most things then she goes on about how tight we are that we cant even buy stuff for him with our own money) AHHHHHHHH!! She just has to be negative about EVERYTHING. Then she went on at me as apparently I am in a bad mood because its a full moon... obviously it cant be because of HER  I just wish she wasnt in T's life, I really want to refuse her access.. I know this is awful but she is an awful person; when she tolds T she shouts at him and is very rough... I hate it. Times like this I kinda wish I wasn't linked to OH's family...

Anyway, enough ranting from me! Hope everyone is well and happy :)

Hello everyone! We just got back from the park, on our way there a man with his wife in full hijab (face covered and everything) stopped us to say how Miss Molly is beautiful and reminds him of his daughter the same age who's at home in the UAE. Then he bent down to chat to Molly, patted her head and before I could react leaned over and kissed her forehead!!

Then he took a mobile phone picture of his wife with her and insisted on putting €10 in Molly's coat pocket. I am not sure what to think :rotfl:  :o

Kitkat is she like that in front of your OH?
