Gosh, no one on yet this morning? Did everyone get a nice lie-in or something?

Yep
. 8 O'Clock in our house, but that was after a pitiful night.
I'm really pleased that your OH has softened to your mum, Bruno. I imagine that makes things a lot easier. Fingers crossed today sees an end to the bed saga.
Hugs to poorly folks and those who couldn't sleep.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

No lie in here. Izzy was up at about 6am, and of course DH didn't think that me being poorly was a good enough reason to get up with her
(mind you, I kept waking him up in the night, and now my parents have taken Izzy off for the day I can go back to bed, but still. grrrr....) I went to bed early, but was very cold (had the electric blanket on full blast and had to yell to DH to bring me a hat. And I kept having to get up again. Then I woke up boiling in the middle of the night.
I've managed to eat a slice of bread this morning with no ill effects though, so once I've had some more sleep I may attempt something a bit more adventurous. Just need to stay up a bit longer to call in sick.
Beccles I don't know if it would suit them, but the Mitchel and Kenyon dvds have worked well for grandparents here. Or maybe Joyce Grenfel?

Morning, we managed to make it to just before 8, although madam did have a rather epic poop and vom session at 4am.
Ladybird, hope your sickness is just a 24hr thing and you manage some sleep and food.
Those treasure baskets look fab. Link duly bookmarked. I'm not bothering about surestart for ideas, they keep mucking around with schedules as to when things are on which is a total pain.

Morning
Insomnia strikes again and been awake hours during the night
While everyone is discussing presents, anyone got any inspiration for grandparents?
They're both in their 80's and still quite independent. Gran is has poor vision and struggles reading, doesn't like audio books but can manage with the TV. Grandad is diabetic. They like Rat Pack films and music and some classical music. They've just got a DVD of a violinist bloke playing German waltz's and stuff, but I've forgotten his name. They don't seem into pamper stuff and posh toiletries.
Did a food hamper last year and have bought CD's/DVD's in the past.
Off work again today. Heading into town with Charlotte as I need a new battery for my watch and I'm hoping the man will be at the market as he only charges £2. Got some other errands to run and need to get some groceries too.
Have a good day all xx
Are your Grandparents into nature type programmes? We've bought my Grandad Blue Planet and Life in the Freezer before. We've also bought my Nan some of the older musicals on DVD and she loved those.
Sounds like you are on the mend Ladybird, so I hope a whole day in bed does you the world of good. at your DH though.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

When you have a fever, your body changes the temperature your body is set at so until you reach that temperature you think you are cold.ladybirdintheuk wrote: »I went to bed early, but was very cold (had the electric blanket on full blast and had to yell to DH to bring me a hat. Good Morning

How is everyone?
Had a lovely holiday. Kian was brilliant on the flights and in the hotel. He loved being in the pool. Preferred to stand and hold the side or one of us and splash the water but it was great to see him enjoying it so much.

Som - it's not a recommendation but this lego set is on hotukdeals.
Or this one. ETA I'm dying to try that banana tip! I never knew they did that lol. He actually coped really well with circles which surprised me.
Thanks Sami - I'll have a look for that. Doing quite well so far. I've got a wooden egg cup, 2 fried egg rings (one metal, one rubber), a knitted monkey, a velvet scrunchie, a flannel, a wooden rattle, an old fashioned silver penguin teether which was Stu's, a wooden ring box. My Mum just emailed me to say she has loads of stuff from when she worked at a playgroup and they did similar things :T
Thanks Gill that first one looks fabby, will phone my brother just to check he likes the deep see stuff, but I think that might be the one
Make sure the banana isnt over ripe when you try splitting it of it gets messy!
I know the treasure baskets are supposed to be all natural but I found a small plastic bottle filled with water and food colouring and glitter is really good, also those bath scrunchies MIL got T a very pretty multicoloured one that goes down well. We have lots of random bits of material and ribbons, a bean bag, sponge, bubble wrap, wooden pebbles and pasta shakers amongst other bits in ours. T is currently playing with the green ice cream scoop and purple spatula we keep in the bag with our treasue
