I'm starting to look into Thomas's new carseat and could do with some advice. He's very tall and although his current car seat will do him until 13kg I think his legs will be over the edge and his head will be sticking above it before we get to that point. (I'm assuming this is a problem?!)
I've heard recommendations for the Britax First Class - are these the same but different colours?

I have a 10% off code which would bring them down to about the £90 mark - is that about as good as it gets (Somnium?)
I'm happy to consider anything else if anyone can recommend
Gill, yup, they're both the same IMO. We've got a First Class in one car (we used facing both ways) and a Tobi in the other and we much prefer the Tobi. Don't forget the mothercare price match though. The Tobi was £185 in MC and £130 on another website and they matched it no prob and sent me a £10 voucher
Hoorah for Tia and Amber coming home.

The loud speakers at the fireworks in town are everso loud - can hear a shouty man booming from here. ETA - operation going to the top of the hill to view the fireworks has not been a success. Not sure if I will be able to see them out of the window - there are two other blocks of flats which are probably in the way - I'm not completely sure of the direction the fireworks will be in.

So you don't have mountains of lentils, rice, beans, wheat, flour dried fruit, nuts, tins and jars then?
I probably would be crazy enough to have one in the living room.
Well, we do have "some" for sure. I just made us a nice lentil soup after coming across some in the cupboard while looking for something else.
I am always struggling to get away from my meat-and-two-veg upbringing but there are very few 'proper evening meals' I would be happy with which consist only of cupboard things, iyswim.
I am almost crazy enough to have a freezer in the living room. If we had more space generally I would do it I think.
Woo-hooooooooooo for Amber coming home!! I am very excitedand relieved. Looking forward to a full update on everything when Tia has time and energy
Elijah is being a little monster about the fireworks this year! At first last night every time there was a bang he would leap up and shout "OH! What's that NOISE!" in condemnation... so after a bit we took him to the front door and let him watch a few from there, but this was a huge error... after that last night and tonight, he wants nothing more than to watch them, allllll the time. It's quite cool out there and we've already had 6 'watching fireworks' events this evening; every time there is a fireworks noise he gets extremely excited and shouts "OHHHH Dat's a good one! That's a GOOD fire-erwork!! GOOD!" and tries to drag us to the door... :rolleyes:0 -
Gill, the straps are just so much easier to alter. In the FC, you have to press a button to make them longer so it can be a struggle to get her out when it has been tightened properly and then you need two hands to losen it to get her back in. With the Tobi, as long as the buckle is flat away from her (if that makes sense) you can just pull the straps and they come lose. So much easier to get her out and it's ready for her to get back in straight away. She also doesn't seem to escape from the Tobi as much as the FC. I think it is the fabric bits over her shoulders that help but dunno really. She seems to prefer the Tobi too so the FC is in the small car just for picks ups from nursery.
It's also a bit smaller on the base but it is the straps that make it my fav. If we hadn't have needed the FC to face backward initially, I'd have been fed up that we'd bought it TBH.
