    We're home!!!! :j:j:j

So far all I have been able to work out (from discharge papers and what I have been told) is that she has had Acute hepititus and paracetamol toxicity. It may mean she is 'allergic' to paracetamol or it could just be because she had the hepititis and then I was giving her paracetamol thinking (along with various Doctors at A&E in two hospitals and paeds) that she had a simple gastric viral infection.

But she should make a full recovery (unless there is something else going on which is a possibility). More tests to do and we are back to local childrens hospital on Monday for tests.

But we are home and my baby girl is alive and kicking :D

And the paracetamol has been thrown out... She can not have any until we find out if it is safe for her or not. Doubt I would ever be able to give her any anyway. :(

Scary times Tia, we're really glad to see you home though, and wishing a much speedier recovery to Miss Amber now she's back where she belongs!!

Tia, that's so good you have Amber back home! I hope they can find out quickly if she does have an allergy - although after what you've been through I'm not surprised you'd be reluctant to give her anything.

I'm nervous about chest freezers too, after being whacked on the head by a falling lid when I worked in a kitchen. My mum also tore both her rotar cuff muscles hefting a 10kg bag of frozen corn out of one at work.

Welcome home Tia and Amber! So pleased and relieved she's ok.
  • Welcome home Tia and Amber. We did end up going outside to watch the fireworks - not up the hill, just at the end of the road so we weren't obstructed by so many trees. Once they started and Izzy could hear them, but not see she demanded her coat and shoes on. She is in bed now - late night for her so I'm hoping for a lie in, but i'm sure I've jinxed myself by saying so ;)

  • Fireworks are not popular in the MDW house, "too noisy and the make me jump mummy" she won't even watch out of the window.

Got her to sleep tonight despite the noise by sitting at the end of the bed.

Amazingly the cats and dog aren't reacting at all, the dog previously would have been trying to find the smallest darkest space she could, not easy when you're a greyhound.

ETA Welcome home Tia and Amber.
