Phew! The beast is asleep! She's been a right ratty so and so in town this morning. She ended up sitting on the table in the cafe because she kept trying to burst out of the highchair. Plus lots of screeching. Anyway we're off to the library once she's awake. We were going to go yesterday but it was pouring with rain. Josh is pleased cos he can choose 3 books this time. Last time I told him he could only choose 2 because he didn't read the ones before.
Hope everyone is well - not read back, I have to use this lovely quiet time to get my jobs done! 1st on the list today was to make the sweet and sour sauce for tea tonight. Have folded the washing and unloaded the dishwasher. DH was grumping earlier because we've only got £20 left for the week after bills and loan have been paid. My car also needed diesel. I said I'd rather we only had £20 left than were £20 short. SO I've got to do a meal plan for next week. I know we can do all our meals from food we already have. We have so much meat in the freezer there's no room for anything else. There's a butcher who goes to DHs work and the meat is lovely and cheaper than the shops. But it's bulk purchase so there's loads!
Anyway, I'll stop waffling/thinking out loud and get my coffee whilst it's hot!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -
Enjoy your hot coffee PP
I found this morning's tea where I'd had to abandon it earlier and then not had the time to go back to it, but since the small girl has gone to sleep I have time to potter.
Dishes done and on the rack (am I the only PT mummy with no dishwasher?), vague attempts made at tidying, Husband has gone to buy meat from the Turkish butcher before he runs out and is happily meal planning for the week (I got extremely excited when I was able to see the bottom of one of the fridge shelves and that nothing in there was growing, so he's cottoning on to the idea that it is ok to have enough food in the flat to last a week, not a nuclear holocaust), all my weekly jobs done and I'm enjoying quiet time. My friend brought us cupcakes that she made yesterday, it was an experiment in gluten-free, lactose-free, egg-free baking and apparently she made up all the shortfall with sugar - my pulse is racing and I have the urge to climb the walls :rotfl:Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Susan if we were willing to eat weird combinations and no fresh fruit/veg, we could probably manage at least a month on what we have here before ripping up the floorboards and trying to eat those. I just hate that he buys all the whoopsies because he can't resist them but we can't possibly eat it all before it turns green and nasty, so fresh food wise only a week is acceptable.
I'm going to send him Weezl's meal plans again, we won't be totally adopting it because the costings work out much different here, but some of the recipes are definitely things I'd like to have available.
Maybe today I'll make pastry for mince pies and freeze it :jOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

And now I feel slightly embarrassed because aside from milk and fresh fruit, we could probably eat normal food for at least couple of months.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Hows Am doing today? I saw update on FB.... YAY xxWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Afternoon all,
Not having a very productive day here - kids are all wanting my attention so housework and chores are on hold.
I need milk for baby so we either need to get ready and walk to the supermarket or wait for oh to come home and go in the car later. I had planned for us to walk and then call in at grandparents but time seems to be flying today.
Also need to do food shop online and stick some stuff on ebay.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far.0
