Morning all :) I have been reading but other than tia and Amber I cant remember anyone elses goings on so apologies.

Am in a huff with OH atm, and it keeps happening and maybe am over reacting but he really gets on my wick atm! He is fab around the house and cooks and cleans for me lots but boy does he go on about it, and I'm like well either get on with it and shut up or dont do it, its not like I dont do stuff for him and I always say thankyou and tell him I love him for his help. theres other stuff too and its all minor stuff but it builds up and makes me grrrrr and :( Sorry I just need to get that off my chest, and I know its trivial but I have no one else I can moan to cos I have no relatives nearby and when I phone my Mum it upsets her cos she cant help.

Anyhoo am at work again today, so at least thats blown the cobwebs off that issue. Hope it goes quickly again.

Tia - still thinking of Amber, hope you start getting more positive news and can come home soon. Gentle hugs and big honkin get well vibes x

agreed with the pasta sauce get some veg mixed in with that - bol sauce is good for that due to the other flavours over riding the veg flavours curry is also good for getting more veg in it for them

have you tried gravy? my wee one will not eat a lot of veg plain but covered in gravy or even with some ketchup to dunk them in she will eat them,

omlette is good for getting extras in however the binding effect of the egg will counter act the loosening of the veg so be careful with this one if thats the effect you are after

put some peas and sweetcorn in with the baked beans and see with that will help

as someone else has said mash some of the veg into the mash

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

    Hi All

Looking for some ideas on how to get my 2 year old DD to eat some vegetables. She suffers a lot from constipation which Im trying to control by diet rather than keep giving her Lactolose, trouble is even though she is offered vegetables nearly every dinner time, she wont eat them! She will eat fruit but that doesnt seem to be doing much, its the green veg that she needs I think. Any ideas on how to get her to eat it? Or if I could try anything else that she might eat?

At the moment she will eat beans on toast, scrambled egg, omelette (could try putting veg into one of these I guess) and pasta. I do try and get her to eat a varied diet but on the nights that she refuses to eat her dinner I would rather she ate something than nothing because otherwise she wakes up hungry.

She has a bottle of milk before bed, cereals for breakfast (wont eat wheatabix) and a sandwich or something similar at the childminders for lunch, her snacks at the childminders are mainly fruit aswell.

    Think Ive covered everything there!

    TIA

Hi All Looking for some ideas on how to get my 2 year old DD to eat some vegetables.

Many ways to add vegetable to a diet, mashed and mix with other things, in soups liquidised, stews, purees, pasta sauces. Add lentils and beans disguised to foods. Make patties, burgers, meat balls with vegetables included.
What about healthy dips with raw vegetables, cut into shapes to tempt, make food fun.

Having said that they can be a little temperamental my daughter (now adult) had two short lived phases where she only liked mushrooms and then only chicken, guess what she had to eat for a while... and as long as it does not go on too long go with it they may well soon bore and want more things.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.
  • Morning, dreadful night here as H is stuffed up with cold. We've been a poorly house here recently so hoping that will end soon.

Any news from Tia? I've been thinking of her and Amber.

Work has turned into a bit of a nightmare at the moment- much more is being asked of me than is my job, plus I am not getting paid any more. I'm not really sure what to do, but for obvious reasons I'm not really up to it at the moment. I'm going to plough through this week, but then put my foot down.

Not much advice on toddler eating, except that I find grating carrots and the like into sauces works well with my husband!

Pop to the poundshop and pick up a bag of those little gold medals... Next time he proudly tells you what he's done... Give him a medal for it ;)

I actually got up to a "list of things I've done while you were asleep" at 6:45 this morning... But I was too busy concentrating on getting my lower body moving to listen to what he was saying lol...

DM, When Aimee went through "I'm not eating that" phases I used to put just 1 on her plate and make her eat just one... When she stopped moaning about eating just 1, then I'd put 2 or 3 on there ;) Also, swede is great for mashing into potato... 6 months after we got married and he'd moved in with me I asked hubby to buy a swede for mashing and he said to me "Oh, I don't like swede..." My reply... "That's funny dear, you've eaten it in every plate of mashed potato you've had for the last 6 months..."
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

    morning all

ive got zero chance of catching up, just wanted to say massive vibes out to those in need, I'm not really a religious person but i will confess to have to put down my washing up sponge and say a prayer over the sink earlier (dont think the powers that be will mind) for Baby Lily and Baby Amber, and to all other babies, mummies, daddies and families....

I've been up since 4am........eurgh, well sort of up, awake... L has just gone mental, ruddy clock change.....im trying to eeak him on o his normal bedtime which i think we would have managed but my parents have been here so he hasnt napped well during the day. L has been awake and making noise since 4, he did drift off for 45 mins at about half 5.... tried feeding him, winding him etc. didnt wanna know.... so ive been up with him since half 7 downstairs, DH is still in bed, admittedly he was getting up with me as well, so only seemed fair. L has just fallen asleep in his swing though...

HV is coming round today, I did try to tell her not to, and that I had no concerns etc, feel like im on track with my gp's assistance but she wasnt having any of it and was going on about how noone had seen L for ages.... so not last week or at baby massag, moron....

Am so not in the mood for it, but hopefully be done sharpish....

On the PND side however, i feeling a bit better, been able to spend some time just on me, doing things i like, albeit in the house (but i dont really like going out much anyway) so have been cooking better dinners for DH and I, and actually eating breakfast (circa 11am but still), so i think thats helped me a lot...

We're now facing a big decision about the dog though.....and its making me upset.....

Sorry went off waffling, alli really wanted to say was love to all, looking forward to hearing progress on secret santa on FB.....xx

No news from Tia yet but hopefully thats a good thing! no news being good news and all that. Hope they both got some much deserved rest and everything improves quickly.
Fighting vibes also for baby Lily

BB4L have 100% extra free on all store cupboard items, have managed to get a lot of bread mixes, flour and other bits and pieces ordered. Glad my cupboards were cleared yesterday :D

CAFC have you looked into a dog walker etc? that way it would give you some time to do what you need to and someone will have tired him out so he would be less demanding. Glad to hear things are looking better and remember the nod and smile thing for the HV xx

What is she drinking through the day? Some frit juices may help with her constipation, prune, pineapple etc As well as increasing her intake of water will help her to pass....

Veggies wise, if shes good with fruit maybe trying her with the sweeter veg for short term (I dont mean to encourage a sweet tooth) things like sweet potato, sweetcorn etc....you could try giving her veg as snacks instead of fruit, or maybe something more savoury perhaps cheese, or hard boiled egg?

Could you try and involve her with making a dinner for herself, what about mini pizzas or something, tomato, sweetcorn, some cheese, peppers etc... if shes involved in the prep it might make her more inclined to eat it???

i dont really know much about anything though, that'd just be what i would try with L.... :o
