I have ordered my San Francisco online, as the orange shop is now insisting on £20 top-up!!! As I want to use my contract sim on it I wasn't gonna do that!

    Mike,

Having had the phone for 3.5wks I have been confident enough to remove the Orange software and add applications (apps / software programmes) that allow me to watch tv / play games / etc)

Does cost anything to watch tv on it? or does it eat into our allowances?
No reliance should be placed on the above.

Provided that you are watching TV over a wifi connection then it won't cost you anything, indeed I watched TV occasionally whilst in Cyprus thanks to a free wifi connection at a pub. :) However, watching TV over the data connection can be very costly, it can use a lot of data very quickly and you could soon go over your allowance! Be very careful if watching TV this way, unless you are on a truly unlimited internet data plan from the likes of someone like GiffGaff.

i phoned them direct. (the number is on the orange web site)
i already had an old sim card that was last used 4 months ago so i said that i wanted a new phone and could i still use that old sim card. no problem they said. "what phone would you like?"
he then told me the price would be £109.99
i told them that my friend got 1 2 days ago for 79.99 he went away to check and then just said that he could do it for 78.99 inc £10 top up but he couldnt do it any less as id only put £30 of credit on my old sim in the last year. well i didnt argue with that but i did have to ask for my free xmas gift..lol

if you read through previous posts you can go buy a sim card then go home and register it then ring them and you still get the same deal.
i saw orange sims yeasterday for 75p so its well worth getting one and trying which is what i was going to do.
my daughter has lost the old sim card but i remembered the number so the man i spoke to said he would send a new sim card using the old number.
the sims were in The facory shop for 75p and i think they have them in poundstretcher and home bargains too.

Can people please read through the thread properly before asking questions as the same questions and answers keep coming up.

If you were referring to me then I apologise but I missed that bit of info plus after going out & getting a sim card etc I then rang Orange who told me that I had not held the sim card for long enough & that they were now looking at people having the card for at least 3 months & had actually used it before you could get any kind of discount !

Things change so sometimes something new comes up so the question is worth asking again.

ps. I did ring back to a different advisor & was told the same thing.
