Can i put a spin on this?
Scenario time, say it was you that had a new bloke and walked out on your hubby taking the kids, and he wants them for Xmas, would you still say no, or are you (as it looks to me) using the children to still get at him because he walked out on you.
You both made the children, you both love them, i've had to spend the last 10 years sharing DS, alternative Christmas, ds some years doesn't get to open his presents at my house until he comes back home, i don't tear myself up about it, i look forward to him coming back for him to have another part of christmas which is usually where everyone is stuffed full and can't move off the sofa and spend time playing with the kids and their toys.0 -
Mupette, OP has stated a few posts ago, that shes woken up in a better mood, and agreeing that the xmas swap idea is not as bad as she first thought x0

Really pleased you're feeling better about the situation op, and if you can do what you think is best for the children then you can't go far wrong. Think I might be inclined to bring up the new year issue now though. Can't see why this can't be an equal split, i.e you have them one year him the next? That way you get some new years without them too. (Don't mean that to sound the way it reads but I think you know what I mean.)
Now may be a good time to bring it up as he can't really object after asking you to split Christmas with him. If he does then I may be inclined to tell him that you may rethink the Christmas thing if he can't put himself out for them at New Year.0
