Hi Ski Pie - Would be interested to hear how you get on with that. My moods are all over the place - like PMT X 100 but have just tholed it as I know the doc will push Prozac at me - which I don't want.
Hope it helps you.0 -
Can I ask you ladies if any of you are using Bioidentical Progesterone Cream? I have just started using it and wondered if you found it helped? I am Peri but have PMDD (severe PMT) which is very debilitating every month. I only started the cream last week and had to get a private doctor to prescribe it as my own had to google PMDD and thought that prozac would be sufficient treatment (for a hormonal condition)
I've PM'd you on your other thread but just to let the other ladies on here know that I've been using it and find it good. It helped me during the peri-menopause stage and I've continued using it because I now also use bio-identical estrogen. I have to say the estrogen for me has also been fantastic. I don't get any hot flushes and even my hair has improved as it started to go very tangly. The only downside is the cost but it has improved my life so for me it's worth it. If anyone has any questions please let me know. :A0 -
Hi Choille
Well I have just started last week so will let you know how I get on. I am keeping everything cross but it makes total sense to me to correct the hormone imbalance that I have (I am estrogen dominant, don't make enough progesterone) as the prozac wasn't doing anything for me, more like putting a sticking plaster on a broken leg!I have realised I will never play the Dane!
Where are my medals? Everyone else on here has medals!!0 -
Astara - thank you for your pm -pm-ed you back!
xx

Hiya Menos,
Sorry some of us are suffering - as usual. Hope you get that chest thing sorted choille, can be exhausting. Shykins, sorry you have the bladder prob too, get better soon.
Welcome newbies, good to have you post on here.
Well, I've succumbed!! 6 years of horrendous hot flushes and today I've started hrt. Am going with low dose combined, and, after doing my research, and taking into account my low body weight, I'm going to experiment with taking as little as possible. Apparently research shows a very low dose indeed can still produce all the benefits. Simply cannot see the point of suffering the flushes, and countless other symptoms, day and night, any more. They've been awful recently. This is NOT advice, just a sharing.
My Mum, who has been so very poorly has rallied somewhat. We never know what each day will bring.
Isn't it great to see the signs of spring. Hope it's reached you choille! Watched some lambs climbing all over their mothers, 3 tried to get on at once, and then getting into gangs and charging around the field, leaping into the air. Wonderful."Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0 -

Really hope your low dose works Joyfull and it's moneysaving through the conventional doctor!! I do think that if I couldn't afford the bio-identicals I would be tempted to try HRT as apparently some of has bio-identicals in it. You could ask your doctor if any of it does.0 -
Hiya Joyful - I really do not know how you've coped with it for so long. Hope that you get your dose sorted soon & benefits follow pretty quick. You will let us know? Glad that your mum has rallied a little but know how difficult it is for you. It cannot be easy at all.
I'm staying near the stove until I've got rid of this cough so just picking at jobs - being idle - done a lot of that lately.
I'm still ebaying & have really become a little addicted to it - & actually did a big purchase funded by sales - bought a chicken egg incubator - so it is all rather exciting.0 -
joyfull dont blame u resorting to the HRT, theres only so much one person can take and with the added extra stress of your mum!! glad to hear shes a little better and hopefully u will be too
choille glad to hear the ebaying is going well still. so u will soon have loads of chicks, u can start your own little cottae industry
astara/skypie have heard about the progesterone cream on US sites, hope it works well for u bothWhen you know better you do better0 -
oooh an egg incubator - how exciting. Keep us posted won't you? I'd have chickens like a shot but of course we live in a flat now so not likely ha ha. Hope your chesty cold gets sorted soon Choille. Have you tried steaming? Yes I'm sure you have!
Ouch re urine infection shykins - I think it's fairly common in meno ladies?
Joyfull - glad your mum has rallied. You are right that no one knows what each day brings. It sometimes helps to focus on the present and not think far ahead. That's one thing I've been doing a lot more in the last while.
Astara and skypie -hope you keep posting!
Slept well last night - took an over the counter thing to try to encourage sleep. the hot oat milk had helped but the last couple of nights I hadn't dozed off until 4 and even 5. eeek! Anyway, slept so soundly last night - didn't get up once. I just can't remember when that last happened.
The 7seas evening primrose oil and agnus castus have helped with the PMT b00bs which were happening all the time. No doubt they're start again but at least i'm thankful now for a break inbetween times. Have stopped drinking nettle tea for no reason other than just forgot but will start again as it's good for bones I think. Will have to read back posts or look up my book.
I'm really grateful to you all for sharing your experiences. It helps me to feel that this is all part of a 'normal' process:). I feel that we are all cheering each other on and it's really heart warming.
Thinking of going to a meditation group. I do my own but am feeling that I'd like to be part of a group now. Feel that I'm changing - less consumerism (yes - all part of MSE I know!), less chemicals, more chilling time, want to be around like minded folk more but also like loads of space and privacy. Thoughts for today there eh?
Sun is out here but blowing a gale. Off out with dogs. Loving all the buds on the trees.
W
ed to add - sorry it's another l o n g post. Will try to keep them shorter!0
