Hi Strawberry,
Sorry things are in a bit of turmoil for you. Just some general thoughts as I'm pretty tired & have a busy day. Take things a day at a time, or even an hour at a time. Be gentle with yourself. How we talk to ourselves and treat ourselves is way more powerful than what 'others' say or do. No-one has the power to affect us without our agreement. Being alone can be nourishing and fulfilling if we make friends with our own thoughts and emotions. Try not to look too far ahead in life as it's all just 'stories' - we cannot possibly know what life will bring us. You are in good company on this thread. Many of us know firsthand the rollercoaster of menopause and getting older. Sending you hugs. XXX"Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0 -
wow joyfull what a fab post. I found thatreally helpful for me. Over the last few years - quite a few really- I have been meditating more. Not enough to say that have a set time every day.Your post has given me a good reminder of how powerful it is to stay in the moment and ditch the stories we tell, whether of the 'now' as in what people might think of us blah blah, and also things we project into the future which 'might' happen and then we get fixated that they will. Badly written here but you know what I mean.
So...strawberry - although I can't give any advice on not spotting etc, I agree to go with what is happening now, if you can. It certainly is an exhausting time so try not to pack too much in. It helps to have enough rest time whether that is having a snooze or pottering about. Anything to change the full-on stuff we often get caught up in.
So...I'm not saying much here other than repeating joyfull's advice!
Stick with us - we help each other as much as we can.
Sunny day here. Out with dogs in a mo then off to see someone about the opp of volunteering some skills I have (ha ha yes I do have some!).
On the food front, I've been enjoying muesli with some nat bionic i want to say but you know what I mean yoghurt and an apple chopped through. Keeps me going until lunch time but I find if I have a hot drink with it then things get a bit windy. You live and learn eh?
Have a good day all

Thanks a lot for your replys - I have never been one for self thought meditating - always too busy and having to get on with things not much thinking time. I am not spending too much thinking time but more relaxing time not running round 100 miles an hour.
Had an adventure last night my first night out of independence - got the bus out to meet my mate at the pub.
Driver must have Known I didnt have a clue as he dropped me of right out side - no bus stop. I felt really pleased as a guy who got off with me asked how I managed to get the bus driver to do that ! As the bus stop was round the corner up another road - at least I dont look invisible even if I am daft .
I will try the yoghurt ( dont know about the wind side though ) with fruit addded myself. I hate that snot stuff with fruit already in yuk0 -

HRT Update
2 weeks since starting and I'm experimenting with taking the lowest dose possible. Have settled atm on one third of prescribed dose (break tablets up) and flushes are about 85% improved. Massive change in quality of life. The longs years of flushes were so disruptive and exhausting, I now feel the glimmer of space opening up in my life. What is clear is that my body is very depleted and I'm now looking at a long term way of strengthening myself.
Lower caffeine (I don't have much atm, but hoping this will help with the on-going insomnia)
Stop the sleeping pills (been taking non herbal nytol - I only took small amounts, but the hangover the next day was awful)
Take a very high quality mineral supplement ( 6yrs of constant sweating has taken it's toll, I'm certain)
Keep sugar intake as low as possible (plays havoc with blood sugars and countless other probs)
Get plenty of sunlight (Vit D - very important for all sorts of health reasons)
GREENS - Buying some kale & will freeze it (I crave greens, but find them hard to digest...)
Eat some fresh raw each day (again, hard to digest, but will persevere)
Regular leg strengthening exercises (legs v weak & want to avoid another fall)
Do hope you are all bearing up. Saw some bluebells out at the w/e. Seems early, but so beautiful......."Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0 -
Hi all - been tired & grumpy but over the cough thing - well it still comes back occasionally, think it's a virus.
Strawberry, you sound that you've embarked on a better journey & how brave you are.
Joyful - really pleased to hear that the flushes are much better - I don't know how you've managed.
I have been more active but very achey & stiff but sleeping better, probably because I'm outdoors much more since the weather has improved. But my moods suck.0 -
Hi guys,
New to this thread, and to the idea of menopause, so be gentle with me.
I'm starting to wonder if I'm on the way. Though I'm only 33 my mother started very early too (I started going grey at 18 too!). My periods have dwindled to barely anything at all, I'm tired, get anxious now and again, my joints ache and I'm getting some lovely hot flushes, though I don't seem to colour up, just get stinking hot and sweaty for no reason.
Not sure if it's worth going to the docs, not sure I'd want to do anything about it really if it is that. But then I don't know what else to expect with it or even if it is menopause!
Anyone else doing this young?Softstuff- Officially better than 0070
