We pay to park & you use the ticket to get the fee back. I often find tickets out in the car park & I use that as well when I get the shopping - very mean of me but quite MSE.

Hope everyone is feeling okay & staying warm but not too warm.

Not mean at all, just shrewd, in my book!

We have a new big-chain supermarket just opened in our town, so their competitor, Tesco have issued loads of money-off vouchers over the next 4 weeks. £5 off £15 spend and £10 off £30 spend. We got 6 mailshots delivered to our address alone each covering the next 4 weeks!

I'm no lover of Tesco at all, but have been scouring My Supermarket, trying to work out the way to squeeze the most out of Tesco with these vouchers. Looking for things that will need to buy anyway and can store, like loo rolls, but currently on a really good offer, then get the extra third off with the voucher. Won't bother unless it's a great deal though, as am loathe to put more money in Tesco pockets! Unfortunately, the vouchers are only usable in local store, which is foodstuffs only.

Peeps, how the heck are you all?

No frost on the car windscreen today. OMG what will I do with all that spare time? Seriously though, I've been putting an old bedspread over the car covering windscreen and side windows and it really saves all that scraping.

Morrisons xmas lunch was rather good. I had the veggie option & it was tasty. The xmas pud was truly yummy. BF & I felt like bloated slugs all afternoon though.

Choille, if you do give ebay a go, I'll be interested to hear how it goes. My BF's daughter has just put about 10 bags on and they've had loads of interest.

I've also gone right off Tesco even though it's my local store. They're sneaky. The carrier bags became so thin that twice I lost a cucumber before getting home. Fell out in the blurry carpark. Thier 'value' range has just about disappeared from our local and I once compared cost per kilo of their value shortbread with their regular shortbread and it was more expensive!! Now a fan of morrisons.

Shykins, hope DS birthday goes well. Don't exhaust yourself.

Managed to redeem £7.50 I'd somehow accrued on nectar points y'day and bought the cheapest mp3 player in argos. I only parted with abut £4 cash. Very basic but great for my particular needs. Managed to learn how ti all works without too much of a moody.

Enjoy the w/e. It'll be a scrum in those shops. Get the meno mean look on, and go into battle. XXX

joyfull glad u enjoyed your lunch. i am a big fan of morrisons too. i think with most supermarkets u have to not just grab something u think is cheap and actually stop, look and do some calculations. its like BOGOF;s they arent always the best deal

choile i dont eat bread (see my sig) but i have heard good things about burgen too. my sweats seem to come and go in cyclesl, ouch to the feather and the tickets for parking makes perfect sense to me. its never mean its always being MSE

bronnie i seem to get sainsbury vouchers every so often, i never shop there except when i get them. just had a load and have been buying all my chrimbo extras with £5 off £30

well hate to buck the trend but i LOVE christmas. still do ds a santa sack and love cooking the dinner christmas day for everyone. cant wait to put the tree later. all that and ds birthday too i LOVE IT (altho its stressful too)

  • hi all,
weather is so much better here, all our snow has gone, the sky is blue, the sun is shining, and I have had all the windows open to air the house out. Almost feels like spring:) Sadly more snow and v cold weather forecast for next week.

The really good thing about my hot flushes is the fact that I hardly feel the cold. I used to feel it terribly, and needed to really wrap up warm. Even in the last spell of bitter cold, as long as I have had a hat, scarf, gloves and warm jacket, I have just been wearing thinish clothes underneath, a thin jumper, rather than the 6 layers I would have needed before.

I have tried some simple tan glow facial stuff out, but used it on my legs! I thought I would practice before I do my face. Looks ok.

hope you are all well, and christmas shopping and prep is coming along well.

shykins, why dont you eat bread? is it a dietary thing, or medical (if you dont mind me asking)

Hi Bronnie - we don't like Tescos much either, although we do use it if we have to. We had that 'do' with them when we got bread with metal scourer in it & they treated US like we were criminals - bah.

Joyful - I will need to do ebay as I can't get any more 'good buys' from charity shops into the caravan. I sort of collect 'good buys' as if I will resell them & haven't so far - but the walls are closing in & every time I stand up I knock something over - so I must ebay, I must ebay, I must ebay.

Shykins - I have no sweats now but my moods are very weird recently. I seems to be almost like a angsty teenager & really felt like throwing a hissy fit yesterday a few times in Inverness, felt like throwing a tantrum in TK Max. I was a stroppy cow yesterday.

Hiya Katie - our weather is much improved although supposed to go freezing again. We've been busy since it thawed trying to get animal, & our feed in too.
I think with the facial tan you can go as dark as you want but -like your sig - 'Less Is More'.

Loads of stars out tonight & we are supposed to have meteor [sp?] showers until 14th - I think.

    Nighty night.

    Morning Menos,

I've already washed sheets, coloured hair and done my early morning chores. Now feel tired out. :(

BF's daughters ebay stuff 'ends' tonight, I'll let you know how the bags did. To encourage Choille!! ;)

Shykins, my mum did Atkins for a while. Bear in mind she 's in a chair 24/7 so never exercises. It certainly lost her weight. Whatever the diet, it's still a mental discipline isn't it? My digestion has rebelled (predictably) after my Morrisson meal. Anything out of my norm & I'm in trouble.

Katie - glad the flushes work for you in this weather. My worst is when I have literally 6 thick layers on when I'm driving & the flush starts. I crank down the windows and direct cold air from the car vents onto my face. I'm still a complete hazard and woe betide anyone tailgating me (my pet hate!)

Crikey, the sun riseth. Long may it continue. Helped BF wrap pressies y'day. Enjoyed dong that curly stuff with scissors and wrapping tape. Bought my mum some really nice little pressies. Trouble is, she'll never use them & I'll find them in a drawer in a year's time.

I was in a bit of moody y'day. Had to bite my tongue with BF. I get so irritable, then feel bad because he's a sweetie most of the time.

    Hi Everyone

Got a bad case of the blues today :(

I was really low Wednesday & Thursday, bounced back Friday & yesterday and am now feel low again today. Does anyone else find this?

Everything is too much effort, and I can't apply myself to anything. I would dearly love to cancel Christmas and spend it - and this may sound awful - completely alone......in fact, I feel like that a lot of the time. People just do my head in.

Please tell me others feel like this?

Had a Mammogram on Tuesday, so have the results of that hanging over me (2-3week wait), so I don't suppose that's helping.

Thing is, tomorrow, I may feel wonderful - I just never know.

Joyfull, amazing early morning achievements! Because I work late and therefore go to bed late, I can't conceive of purposeful activity before 9.30am!

Hippi, I have had 2 cr*ppy winters moodwise. This year I started planning in June my strategies for dealing with it and so far so good! Choille's right, getting as much daylight as possible is more important than we imagine. I sleep with curtains open now to get natural early morning light, pull the curtains back wide and keep daylight (energy saving) lights on in the house on grey days. Also try to wear light colours, even though it's tempting to smother oneself in black in the winter!

New ebayers, need any tips just ask,not an expert by any means, but learned by trial and error so happy to pass on what I've learned. Rule number 1, be patient. It will take you less and less time, as you go on!

Think the warm glows are defo back, can't blame my cold, they are just "glows" though and not too troublesome (at the mo!)
