Hi all...
Hope you're all well and warm...Its freezing here......well its not...it just feels like it.:o Had a bit of a dilemma yesterday...went shopping and while I was out my OH....tried to fit a new light fitting in the kitchen...and fused most of the lights....I was not amused! The electrician is coming in the morning.....
My 'professional' name would be Toby Agg....doesn't quite sound the part....not seductive enough...;)0 -
Hi Folks....
Is there anybody there?....Seems awfully quiet on here atm.
I seem to be the only person posting....:o
The weather here is very cold ...and frosty.. but no snow thankfully.
I feel great at the moment..apart from this dreadful cold that has come on..I keep sneezing and can't seem to get warm.
Hope you all have a warm and peaceful night.0 -
Hiya Dogcat, Doesn't really do it - the Toby Agg nome de plume. But never mind.
Sorry you have a cold but it's good that you feel fine apart from that. We had a big dump of snow here & it's been pretty much just dragging ourselves about to feed animals & drag water about. It's thawing like mad outthere & we hope to get out somewhere tomorrow as the animal feed situation is getting a bit white knuckle.
I seem fine apart from sore joints which is just probably the cold & the sort of weird shuffle that you have to do to stay upright outdoors.
Keep well & warm.0 -
Hi ladies
I'm here too, but ebaying like mad at the moment. Everything I put on is selling and some for really good prices, even though most of it is general clutter from round the house. In view of the captive market I'm listing as much as poss although everything will finish by next Monday, so I can tie it all up before Christmas week. Lots of my buyers seem to be in Scotland, presume they're having trouble getting to the shops! Hope to have made enough to pay for DD and I to have a bit of cut-price sunshine in January
My warm glows have returned this week! They are the only real meno symptom I have and I just had a brief spate of them in the summer then they went again. They are not unpleasant though, especially now!
The forecast is for an improvement in temps this week. Hopwe you all get some respite, especially thosse in harder hit areas.

Hi Bronnie - good for you with the ebay. I have never done it but I really, really need to as I have loads I could put on there. I just need to work out how to do it.
Glad that you are feeling fine.
We are hoping for a thaw as we are short of stuff especially animal feed & firewood - not good!
I've been feeling hormonal - like PMT but thinkit's caravan fever.
All the best0 -
Well I wish I'd started earlier, I gave /chucked so much away in recent years from house moves and clearing my parent's house. Anywya better late than never. I kept saying I couldn't get my head round it, but I do try to force myself to learn to do this stuff now and it's like everything, once you're into it, it's easy.
I use the funds to pay for my cheapo flights and breaks away. I sell quite a lot of low value stuff, but getting to the PO is easy for me and I use a lot of recylced packaging so it works well and it's amazing what people will buy. I just go round the house, gather up about 10 to 15 items every now and again and list. My best deal was some handles from an old Stag chest of drawers that had lost a couple of handles over the years. I had a brainwave and I listed 3 handles and 3 small knobs individually and made £56!!!:T The folk on the ebay board here have helped with any problems, but I've never had any off-putting experiences....yet!
Hope you manage to be able to get your stocks built up again
soon. It must be a worry to see them diminish, although I find it hard to imagine, living as I do in a fairly temperate part of the UK with all conveniences within a stone throw, although I have a friend on FB like you living in a caravan in Scotlans while they do a house build and having seen his recent pictures.....all I can say is BRRRRRRR!!!0 -
Hi Everyone,
I'm around too, but sitting at computer is painful for the back , so I'm fidgeting my way through the day.
Choille - hope you will be getting a small respite from these freezing temps in the next few days... I'm having trouble keeping the water for the birds unfrozen, so your probs are BIG. My pet rabbit has been 'allowed' to stay indoors for a few days and so has been begging for bits of food continuously (which of course I've given her) and has got noticeably larger. She's now on another diet and is all fratchety and has gone into her outdoor hutch to eat hay. Big Strop!
Bronnie - good for you with ebay. I gave up too quickly after some early bad experiences. Plus I have to actually drive to post anything. I agree, learning it is a hassle, but easy once you know how. We'll all be envious when you bask in sunnier climes on your earnings.
Hi dogcat - keep that cold under wraps, don't let it get chesty. How nice to feel so good.If I take away the flushing and back pain I feel pretty good too, certainly feel nicely calm and cheerful most of the time.
Anyone else around? Everyone welcome to share their thoughts.
Sun is coming out here today, even if it has almost zero warmth."Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0 -
hi all am still sort of around, just not posting much
hot flushes seem to come and go, at the moment they wake me up at 5am which does not make for a happy shykins
take care all and keep warm

I'm here too. Glad everyone is ok if cold.
We didn't get much snow here at all, not enough to cover a flea's foot really. But it has been icy. Luckily it's a 5 minute drive to work this year (moved nearer to work 6 months ago). If I had to, I could walk in.
I'm not a fan of Christmas, my son is going to a friend's for the holidays, my daughter has been non commital about her plans since I first asked her 2 months ago. Maybe she thinks she ought to go to her dad's this year as she was with me last year. I really don't mind. I'd hate to be one of those martyr parents who make their kids feel bad about it. So I've stopped asking what her plans are now and wait.
Other than that, the housing market has pretty much stopped so am looking forward to January when it should all kick off again. I'm hopeful anyway as this is what happened last year. I might be mad moving again so soon but it is the right decison for me. Just think, I could be taking a walk on the beach every day, come rain or shine. I'm even thinking of getting a dog when I move. Not sure what the cats will make of it thoughMortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0
