has anyone tried dealtastic?

Just quote the Distance Selling Regulations to them. Works most of the time with problematic companies!

I ordered from them on 2/10/11 I'm still waiting. Sent several emails which they have ignored. If you post a complaint on their Facebook page they quickly hide it from public viewing. A dreadful company that I will not order from again.0

I really wish I had looked on here, before buying from Dealtastic. I am a bit cross with myself, because I usually pride myself in "doing the research", before buying, but saw the offer for the Motorola Sat Nav several times on the !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! website (via which I have picked up many offers from reputable sites, with no previous difficulties)
My experience with Dealtastic seems pretty typical of others who have posted on here.
That is to say:
After ordering, on 25th Oct, I got an email pretty quickly to say it had dispatched. There was a tracking number with Hermes, which I have checked many times, but continues to be unrecognised. After a week I contacted Dealtastic, who advised me to wait 4 more days and then contact them again, as the item may be lost in the post.
Today I have received another email, stating that the item has been dispatched (with Hermes again) and should be with me within 3 days. Yet again the tracking number is not recognised by Hermes. Not sure why an item, which should already be dispatched - and may be missing in the post - would be dispatched again today???
The money for this was taken from my account on 28th Oct.
I felt I should post here to show that the original teething troubles with this company are still there.
4.11.11 Just tried the tracking number again and got the message:
3/11/11 18.36 status - order generated
Not bad for an item that was reputedly dispatched on 25.11.11 (not!)0 -
My sat nav arrived via Hermes delivery yesterday. (order date 25.11.11)
I do feel peeved that they told me it may be lost in the post - when in reality it had not been dispatched. Not sure if dealtastic realise that when you track a parcel with Hermes you can see when the order was processed by them.
I have been really worried about the potential for making a drastic financial mistake with this item, so have hopefully learned my lesson about ordering without thoroughly checking the reviews etc.
Just as a side issue - the box was sealed and all wires/ accessories were in original packaging, but the sat nav itself had no protective film on it (as I would have expected when brand new) It also had a palm print on it and didn't feel "pristine" - although does look new. It does seem to work ok though.0 -
I placed a order on 22nd which showed as dispatched the same day I waited the 10 days but item did not arrive so I emailed there customer service that was when the frustration started ever time I emailed I got a different answer ranging from Item has been sent to item not sent yet, item lost , problem with payment, and the best was I had not even placed the order. I then contacted PayPal to make a no delivery case Dealtastic said they had cancelled the order ,I was looking forward to PayPal giveing me back the money Then to my disgust Dealtastic disputed the claim saying the item had been delivered and gave them a false tracking number . this company has no idea of the truth and this was for £13 :mad:0

The only advice I would definitely offer to anyone using Dealtastic is ensure you use Paypal and if Dealtastic fail to deliver file a non-receipt dispute immediately. Don't accept any credit code refunds!
I foolishly accepted a credit code from their customer services for failure to deliver an item back in August. When I used the code in September and paid the difference in cost to make up the order they failed to deliver yet again (the order was suddenly shown as cancelled and they claimed they had never received payment off me). Dealtastic customer services have started ignoring me despite several emails to them and me sending proof of payment for all items concerned. There is no contact telephone number for them on their website.
I've had a refund for the 'difference' I paid for the last order because I disputed the last transaction through Paypal. However, I don't know what I'm going to do about the money they owe me for the original failure to deliver as it's now too late for a Paypal dispute. So angry at being ignored and totally stressed out
I WILL get my money back though I don't know how? I wonder how many customers have had this issue but just given up and let Dealtastic keep the money

I have just posted about my experience too and having read your statements the excuses from Dealtastic match in my case too - initially they sent me a couple of emails assuring me my items were on the way (even though the order showed cancelled) but they were unable to offer tracking numbers. They were always slow to reply to me which was extremely frustrating. Eventually I was told there was a problem with the transaction but they wouldn't be offering me a refund as I had never paid in the first place. I was so fuming!! Having proved payment I'm still trying to get my money back.I placed a order on 22nd which showed as dispatched the same day I waited the 10 days but item did not arrive so I emailed there customer service that was when the frustration started ever time I emailed I got a different answer ranging from Item has been sent to item not sent yet, item lost , problem with payment, and the best was I had not even placed the order. I then contacted PayPal to make a no delivery case Dealtastic said they had cancelled the order ,I was looking forward to PayPal giveing me back the money Then to my disgust Dealtastic disputed the claim saying the item had been delivered and gave them a false tracking number . this company has no idea of the truth and this was for £13 :mad:0 -
E-mail them and tell them that you're entitled to a full refund under the Distance Selling Regulations. If they fail to refund you send a physical letter telling them they have 14 days to refund you before you open a Small Claim for the amount they owe you. Chances are you'll get your refund.0

Just wondering: is there a trading standard that covers them (they are based in Channel Island apparently)?Mark Hughes' blue and white army0
