A couple of months ago we got some tins of "Anglis" corned beef from Approved foods (supposed to be army surplus) which worked out at only 75p each. When we opened the first of these we could not believe the great quality- there is hardly any fat to be seen. If these appear again i will be stocking up.0

Nicked off t'internet (but I do do this - used to be 'free on a Red day' on Slimming World, but these days involves Syns I believe
)
Tin of corned beef
onion, choppped
low fat cottage cheese
mixed herbs
3 eggs
mix the onion in with the corned beef and press down into a flan dish (I use an oblong shaped one making it thick rather than thin.
Beat 3 eggs into a dish, add the cottage cheese and some mixed herbs (I often use cottage cheese and chives)
Pour the mixture over the corned beef and bake in the oven, about 200C, not sure for how long as I just keep checking it. probably about half an hour. I also put some sliced tomato over the top for colour! (Before I bake)
I eat this hot or cold, but when it's first done it is quite watery so if you can resist, try letting it go cold first!!Nicotine Free since 01.08.2010 :j:j:j

Hi, my Dad always used to grow his own veg, so when a Marrow was ready, he would cut long ways in half, hollow out the inside, then fill it with hash & a touch of worcester sauce, then put the whole thing back together and wrap in foil & bake. Its gorgeous the marrow melts in your mouth, I also do the same, sometimes with a crusty loaf of bread, and save the bread crumbs for other meals.Never play with your Bellybutton your Bum could fall off.:rotfl:0

Mmm corned beef hash! I agree that it has become ridiculously expensive over the past few years!
How do people make corned beef hash? We make it by just mashing mash and corned beef together in a big pan and serving with beans or a fried egg. Most people I meet don't make it like this though I wondered if it was just a local thing?0 -
Hi Deleted_User,
As your thread has dropped down the board I've added it to the main thread on corned beef recipes to keep the suggestions together.
This thread also has lots of hash recipes:

My Mum used to do corned beef casserole, and I do the same.
Slice corned beef, potatoes and onions (as many as you need), then layer them in a dish. Corned beef, potatoes, onions and peas mixed, then another layer and so on till you reach the top. Finish with a layer of potatoes. Pour over an oxo cube in water, add salt and pepper. Cook in oven at about 160 Centigrade for about half to three-quarters of an hour. Serve.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Parboil cubed potatoes and cube corned beef, add 1/2 finely chopped onion and 1 jar of rinsed chopped beetroot. Mix and cook in frying pan until crispy and cooked both sides. Plate up and cover with grated cheese. Melt under the grill. I admit it is a bit of a funny colour but it tastes great.0
